A nice little write-up about or young tailbacks...

Bigelow seems to be confident and healthy. Glad to see Ervin at full-strength as well. I'm looking forward to seeing who emerges out of this young group.

Interesting notes:

Quote:

Senior quarterback Zach Maynard skipped Saturday's practice to attend a study group for one of his classes. "We miss guys all the time for that sort of thing," said Tedford, adding that it's possible his starter could miss subsequent workouts to fulfill similar academic responsibilities.

Junior Allan Bridgford took first-team reps in Maynard's place.

After two workouts, Tedford said the team's speed, execution and understanding all are better than a year ago at this time. "We're way ahead of where we were last year ... (with) everything," he said.

we could definetly use some speed to go along with isi and cj. would be nice to see bigelow or lasco used this year as both are speed guys. would be nice to see one or both used like how oregon used deanthony thomas and got him out in the open field.

Maynard and academics come up again

What other guys have we missed all the time to their study groups??

well, at least he's going to study group and not having somebody else take tests for him (as Richard Solomon from the hoops team allegedly did). I hope he can get his situation squared away (for his sake), and I hope that means more reps for Kline!

its definetly more important for maynard to get his studies squared away. its not like its very likely he is going to be an nfl qb. if bridge passes him up then so be it.

really enjoyed that. I'm excited to see what Bigelow can do if his knee really is fully healed and he really is confident.

does that mean we can expect better performance this year? I think offense will be better but defense is questionable losing so many guys. But lots of young talents are rising up.

GO BEARS!

Is it September yet?
