Absolutely blowing the doors off this competition, and officially clinched the title with a 1-2 finish in the 200 yard breaststroke. Cal came in as the defending champion, and the women also have gone back-to-back, so the last four division 1 swimming & diving championships have all been won by Cal.

I must admit that after the graduation of last years fabulous group of swimmers like Adrian and others, I felt we would be somewhere around 4-6th. But this team really continued to achieve and in, many instances, surpassed my expectations. Very proud of our Men and Women National Champions!!!

Sweet! It's also so much sweeter to beat Texas and Stanford in the process. Cal is the center of the swimming universe the last 2 years.

Correction: it was the 200 fly, not the breast that clinched it. We were 2nd and 5th in the breast.

For those keeping score at home, the men's swimming coach was a Sandy Barbour hire. He has proved to be a good one.

So roughly how many cal swimming olympians should we expect this year? looking forward to cheering on our champs in london!
