So, I've decided to lift my cloak of anonymity and let everyone in Bearinsder know that OskiDeLaHoya is really BearFanInDenver.

Who the heck is that, you ask? Well, right now, it's the guy who's kicking "Pac 12 Blog Challenge" ass in the Pac 12 Blog's Tournament Pool:

http://games.espn.go.com/tournament-challenge-bracket/en/group?groupID=151039

With three more games to go, I should win if there's a Kentucky/Oh. State final and Kentucky takes the crown. Not to count my eggs yet, but I've started thinking about what to write if I did win. The winner's prize is the opportunity to write whatever the heck I want in a Pac-12 blog post. Any suggestions? I want it to be something more intelligent than a whole post illuminating the suckiness of Stanfurd (or U$C or UW), because after all, that goes without saying.

OK, so now I've jinxed myself. I predict a Louisville/Kansas final.

That's awesome! Congrats. I hope you win. I'll let someone else help with the blog post though.

A rant on why To$h is piece of ****.

Why I loved my time at Cal.

Seriously - we hardly ever see that kind of thing in sports blogs. Would be a nice change of pace and better than a To$h's boat.

I would really hope to have a positive spin on this as well. Anything about Tosh or Udub would just come off as WHINY! I would love for Cal to be represented with class. And guess what, we may be pretty good this year.

Potential All Pac 12 guys include :
KA
Isi
MSG
Tipoti
Jalil
Whiteside
Gadget
Biggie
Wilkerson

That is not even including guys like:
Harris
Treggs
Forbes
Barr
Tiny
Stevie Williams
Marc Anthony

Or my new favorite Bear

Avery!

F it we are winning the North!!!

Totally agree with socaltownie, it should be something positive, but I also think it should have at least some focus on Cal football...not just the school in general.

Maybe write about why you/we love the Cal gameday experience and what sets it apart from everywhere else....IF you win. I don't want to jinx it.

That's my 2 cents. Good luck

Thanks, all. Was thinking of something along the lines of my Cal fandom journey/love of Cal already. Let's see what happens.

A Tosh expose did cross my mind, too, freshfunk :hammer:

Here is another idea to work off of. From the WSJ "If All-America Teams Were Actual Teams... "

The Associated Press All-America men's basketball team was released Monday and forward Thomas Robinson of Final Four team Kansas was a unanimous selection. The team's four other players are remarkably similar to Robinson: All are between 6 feet 7 and 6 feet 10, and all are forwards.

That's a formidable frontcourt, averaging 17.7 points and 10 rebounds per game. But where are the guards? Basketball with five forwards is like football with 11 tight ends. What if this team, which has almost no ball-handling, had to play a real game?

Picture Ohio State's Jared Sullingerall 6 feet 9 and 280 pounds of himrunning the break. Or Kentucky's Anthony Davis and his 1.1 assists per game feeding, well, anyone in the post. Imagine the crowds in the lane, the inadvertent elbowing of one's own teammates.

Had it actually taken the court, the 2010 All-America team would have had the opposite problem: The consensus first team featured four guards. (The AP's first team had Kentucky big man DeMarcus Cousins in place of Kansas guard Sherron Collins.) Imagine the 6-foot-7 Wesley Johnson trying to guard Davis, Sullinger and Robinsona nightmare matchup hatched by John Calipari and the devil on James Naismith's shoulder.

Perhaps this year's team could borrow a player or two from previous All-America teams more endowed with guards. Texas guard T.J. Ford (2003) would grease what could otherwise be top-heavy offensive gears. Jameer Nelson of Saint Joseph's, 5 feet 11 with his shoes on, could provide the ball-hawking (3.0 steals per game) he brought to the 2004 team.

The 2012 team might have its quirks, but it would have no trouble delivering blocks: Its 1.5 average per game leads all teams in the last 10 years. And this year's team would have no trouble delivering a poster-quality dunk.
