I admit to secretly being a fan of RichRod and The Pirate

Although I am not a fan of how RichRod left WVU or UM, I remember sitting in a casino in the Caribbean during the 2005-2006 bowl season watching WVU vs. #7 Georgia, of the mighty SEC. It was sweet to watch lowly WVU go up 7-0, then 14-0, then 21-0 and 28-0 in the first quarter if I remember correctly. It made me a fan. Also, watching White & Slaton in action at WVU was just beautiful. I might not like RichRod anymore now that he will be playing Cal but I am super curious to see what he will be able to do.

We all remember The Pirate destroying us during the 2004 Holiday Bowl with his Air Raid. I get the impression that he took the recruiting leftovers and made them into champions. TT had some big wins under Leach. I am curious to see what the man is going to do at WSU. Except for the game against Cal, I hope he creates some Pac-12 havoc.

The only Pac-12 South schools that really matter to us are SC and UCLA, because we play them every year. Improvement at any other Pac-12 South school is actually good for us (at least getting to the CCG) because of the greater chance of giving Oregon, Washington, OSU or WSU a loss.

My hope is Leach improves WSU enough to score upset victories againt WSU's Northwest rivals--UW, Oregon, and OSU, but that when they play us they are flat and lose.

I've always been a fan of the pirate. He's the complete opposite of JT, which can be good or bad. Fun to watch, innovative, risky...etc

Yep, I think both coaches are a good fit at their respective schools, because they are capable of building a program that wins consistently with underrecruited players.

I was at a BBQ last Saturday for the U of A football coaching staff..The first coach that arrived was RichRod and as I was the only other person there I chatted with him for about an hour over a couple of beers..

I have to say that U of A is now my second favorite Pac-12 team as he was really a great guy! He said he's good friends with Tedford and he laughed when I said he had to tell Coach T how to beat Ohio State. We talked about everything from what it was like coaching in West Virginia to the Lupoi stuff and how moving around affects his kids and he seemed to be a really sincere person..I wish him well, except when he plays us :-)

The (only?) good thing about the North-South split is now you can have a favorite team in the other division--and it helps if it is not USC or UCLA as they will be playing more games against the hated Ducks and Dogs than against us.
