Cool article about degrees earned from top tech CEOs.
Berkeley beats out Stanfurd, MIT, Harvard, and all the other ivies.

Take it with a grain of salt, but a fun read nonetheless.

CEOs at Google, Intel, Adobe, and Qualcomm all went to Berkeley. You would think Cal wouldn't have any problems with fundraising. Pick the ugliest building on campus to replace and name it Qualcomm Hall.

Of course if you adjust for the number of students that graduate from each college, the ranking would not favor Cal, but I'm not going to criticize their ranking scheme.

It's a shame none of those CEOs are Cal Football fans or we might have our own "Uncle Phil" as part of the Program.

In terms of Sports, none of these guys have even thought of sponsoring the hometown San Jose Earthquakes, a pretty good MLS Soccer team (1st place) now playing without a sponsorship on their jersey this season. By doing so, it would be cheap (relatively speaking) advertisement for both parties and for the high-tech Silicon Valley in general, but the thought hasn't crossed anybody's mind as of yet. I think it's a no-brainer.

Great list of heavy hitters in the Tech Sector and Cal should be rightfully proud of their accomplishments, but it's a shame the Cal Brass can't get them involved with Cal Football or Cal Athletics in some way or the possibility that they aren't Sports Fans to begin with. In either case, that sucks.

JMO.

Or at least get them involved on the academic side so the funding for the IA isn't an issue any longer. There is more than one way to fix things and continuing to build the University Endowment, facilities upgrades/renovations etc help to stem (some of) the tide of rising tuition and with the funds from the new TV contract can help move the university forward with its new public/private model since the state is dead to us from a funding perspective.
