I am getting revved up for our season opener this Saturday.

I think having Nevada as our first opponent represents a difficult task and one I think that is good for our team to have going into the start of the season.

So what would satisfy you all?

For me, I would like to see a crisp offense with limited mistakes and a defense that negates the run. I hope for a win... and would like it to be by more than a touchdown (but expect it to be less than the spread).

I just want a win and no signifcant injuries. for me, just being in the new stadium will be satisfying enough for the first game!

I expect an easy win and that would satisfy me

...but I am a big fan of Chris Ault and think he is one of the great coaches, good guys in sports. I pull for little NV, like I do sometimes for Hawaii as just smaller schools I like to see do well. So, I guess I would like to not see them completely humiliated, just a 28 point win will do it, and hopefully we put in the scrubs to not run it up and then I will wish them well in their season.

There are too many Joe Paternos. Nick Sabans, and Bobby Petrinos in this world that Ault is a nice alternative to pull for, except when he plays Cal!

No illegal procedure on our first offensive play and no interception on our second play.

I'd love to see our offense score 40+ points, use the TE in the pass offense to take advantage of the coverage on Keenan Allen, the emergence of a star wr in Treggs, a running game that is multi faceted with at least three different runners making contributions and an Oline that dominates the line of scrimmage.

On defense I want to see pressure on the QB all game long, Inside LB's that are quick, hit hard and move to the ball, a Dline that controls the line of scrimmage and a game plan that causes Nevada's pistol Offense to shoot blanks.

Not to mention I can't wait to see the new stadium and feel the stadium shake with the sound of our cheers.

I want a win, of course, but also an effective, penalty-free game from the O Line. Coach M has had a 18+ months to work with the big guys.

I'm looking for precise offensive execution by our guys. That was the hallmark of early Tedford teams and something that has been sorely lacking the last half dozen or so years. Seeing precision in the way the guys break the huddle, line up at scrimmage, and generally go about their procedures will give me a lot of comfort that we have a shot at a pretty good season. This is something that we'll be fairly easy to discern, even if I can't explain the key markers in more detail. Just like Potter Stewart said - I know it when I see it.

On defense I want to see gang tackling and a limit on big plays by Nevada and obvious missed assignments. I still have nightmares about our OLB performances from the last Nevada game.

A win, and decent play up front, plus the appearance of an improved Maynard.
