We have to bury the "QB Guru" myth or even a "better than average QB developer" image. He might have had it in the past, but he sure lacks it now.

JT is simply clueless now...that might be harsh but I remember him saying his team about 2 years ago was the best he ever had and we stunk up the place bad....JT has lost perspective....and reality.

I'm not a happy camper about the result of this game but our wr's dropped a lot of very catchable passes which made are passing stats drop significantly and more importantly went a long way toward costing us the game.

I saw a lot more underthrown & overthrown passes, passes behind receivers, and swatted passes to well-covered receivers (mainly KA).

I told my friend during the game that I would trade our QB for theirs, in a heartbeat

and their QB was not exceptional, he was able to find the open man every third down though

You must remember that Zach Maynard is very, very young. For a 5th year quarterback. There is only one Aaron Rodgers. It is unfair to expect him or anyone else except Aaron Rodgers to be Aaron Rodgers out there. These things take time. They don't come overnight.

Yeah, you can pretty much throw out anything he says about practice and scrimmage.

Yes, we need his escapability...as he rolls left...everytime.

We have seen all there is to see with Maynard. Its last year all over again. I don't know what happened or why he was not started but it really doesn't matter. He had plenty of opportunity.

The real problem I see is that he doesn't have tall enough receivers. They need to be 9 feet tall to catch the balls Maynard throws away from coverage. Can't we recruit anymore?! :p

Snooze...I haven't been a Nega for all that long but ZM is a damned senior and I see freshmen and sophomores play at other schools WAYYYY better than he is....he's played at 2 major colleges for 4 years....why do you think he'll get much better...the team might get better which will make him better but even the Pac 12 network guys were questioning him....

They used their TEs on third down. "Go down field 10 yards, break left, the ball will be there" whereas on third down we always go max protect and throw to one of our receivers on an out pattern on his outside shoulder along the sideline with a defender right there to break it up.

People keep showing stats about Maynard or even Riley...but like the Supreme Court Justice said about porn..."I know it when I see it..."...you can show me all the stats in the world but i still see a a QB that is lacking and only outplayed one better QB in Luck last year....when the chips are down he doesn't come thru or his teammates don't...he doesn't strike me as a leader.

Stats are an objective way to evaluate players. Better than saying "Well Bridgford looked better." 1 of 8 for 8 yards in almost a quarter of play, "looked" better? It looked to me like we were on our way to losing in a blowout if Bridgford stayed in. Bridgford has the worst QB rating of any QB in the Tedford era.

I think the first assumption to challenge is whether Bridford should be our number two and whether one of the other guys, Hinder or even Kline, deserves a chance to come in and show what they can do. If Kline is better than Bridgford, forget his redshirt, he should be elevated to number two and play garbage time/relief against Southern Utah. Don't throw him to the wolves at Ohio, but bring him along slowly (much like with Rodgers). If he beats out Maynard great, but even if he doesn't, he will be far better prepared to start next year.

There is the possibility that Maynard, as bad as we think he is, may be our best quarterback.

How is it possible Hinder could be worse than Maynard and Bridgford?? Maynard can't hit a flare ten yards away...
