Grand - no one who saw Bridgeford in the Spring game would say he should start.

Defend Maynard all you want, he's not leading us to a successful season. Who's our projected QB next season? It's Kline. The question is: should we start a freshman now?
Matt Barkley started 12 games as a true freshman. Stats: 211 of 352 (59.9%). 15 TDs, 14 ints. I'm not sure what happened to him after that, but the idea was to develop a quality QB.

Bridgford looked awful in the Spring Game as well. Kline passed very well in that game, and should have been elevated to number 2 immediately. JT has a system in which talent cannot simply rise to the top.

Thoughts on Hinder?

I've only seen highlights of him from the Spring Game and practice throwing some good passes.

Agree that starting AB is a frightening prospect. The only thing worse is starting ZM.
Either give AB another chance to start. After all he has had fewer chances to prove he is truly bad. We have some evidence that AB is bad. On the other hand, ZM has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he is awful. So start AB or bench both ZM and AB and give the start to Boehm or Hinder (or preferably Kline).
What good is is to give more playing time to ZM. We know what he can't do. So we beat Southern Utah. Big Deal. We should beat Southern Utah with Boehm, or Hinder.

But we all know JT's preferences. He will want to build up ZM's confidence. He will start ZM. When ZM leads Cal to a win, JT will say "Zach is getting better, the game is slowing down for him, and he will be OK for the remainder of the season, blah, blah, blah." Until the next garbage performance.'
