Not even close!

I think this more than rivals Memorial Stadium, with the exception of the Golden Gate bridge and the Bay.

Thank God we added them to the conference.

Colorado was a worthy addition to the conference.

No doubt the blonde quotient goes way up on gameday. Bonus for the trophy wife factor.
Campus on a Friday morning...not so much.

Put me down for a Bongo Burger. Nothing wrong with that.

Cal is more 31 Flavors and has always skewed towards brunettes (even the fictional Elaine Robinson). Not to be all stereotypical, but seriously, Friday, morning on campus is the WORST time and place to be looking for sorority girls.

Well, other than the library on Friday and Saturday night.

Hope you enjoy your next visit. Looking forward to getting out to Boulder.

LOL. I admit wandering into the Bancroft on Friday. Not a talent rich environment compared to...say the Bear's Lair.

A few elements of the Cal trip stand out. This is among the only football destination where no automobile is needed. SFO-BART-Shattuck Hotel-Strawberry Canyon is 100% pedestrian friendly. If I rented a car, parking would have been tough given the location of Memorial.

The lack of parking and the uptight open container laws drive the pre-game experience into the bars. There aren't vast parking lots with RVs towing BBQ smokers with generous grill masters setting up tents with satellite HD. Not many Cal fans offer up DIY smoked meat and pregame banter over cooler beer. If pre-game were an element on the periodic table, Cal would invent Durantbarboozium or CaniseeyourIDium. Waiting in line to buy drinks from a busy bartender is a part of the cal pregame ritual. It makes cal football Saturday feel like just another bender on the town.

Its great to have a big CU alumni base in the Bay Area. A trip to see Cal also means catching up with college buddies, meeting their kids, and burdening the Mrs. while the blokes hit the town for old times sake. CU had less than 500 fans show up in Stillwater or Waco. CU brought ten times that number to Cal.

Plus its easier to recover from defeat with a quick trip across the bay to get swept up in the San Fran scene.

In sum, the whole package makes Cal attractive. But Folsom provides the more pure football experience.
