Why would you root for an SEC against any Pac12 team no matter what you have against them? It makes absolutely no sense at all.

Entertaining game from a Bear perspective with Price running for his life and Shaq standing around the pile a lot.

Because Steve Sarkisian, UW's head coach, poached our top recruiter back in January, and then gloated about it in public and openly taunted Cal at a UW practice a few weeks ago.

How does uw winning help cal? To me, if uw wins, it helps their program and recruiting. I dont see anybody thinking highly of a 4-7 cal team just because uw beat lsu. We recruit against uw. If they lose, maybe it helps sway a recruit for cal. Sure it's not a science but i, still rooting Against uw.

So we rely on the success or failure of other teams in the conference when it comes to how well we recruit? Seriously? We can't take care of business on our own to help recruiting? I guess that is where we're at right now. Sad.

Udud is dead to real CAL fans. It takes a special level of hatred for anyone to root for an SEC team over a conference member. The leg humpers have achieved that level.

Yeah, forgive me if I have trouble thinking of all of the following people as being "on the same team" as us: Sark, To$h, Lane Kiffin, Jim Harbaugh (even if he's no longer at furd), Chip Kelly, Rich Rod & Leach (the newcomers who threaten to push Cal further into irrelevance), UW fans, Oregon fans, the "Tempe12" girls, USC's Teague Egan, UCLA (who always roots for us, don'tcha know?) and the handful of people who show up to furd games.

When they face out-of-conference foes, we should all huddle up and say "Go Pac 12!" Ummm.....no.

Even if the Lupoi thing never happened I'd be rooting against UW. I've never been a fan of conference pride.

If you aren't at the mercy of the polls (i.e. a lousy team out of the top 25) there is no incentive to root for your opponents.

Exactly what GHB said...I root for the Pac12 team probably 95% of the time, but every once in awhile, some team even has me rooting for someone else... UDub has achieved that this year..

On the other hand why would one root for UW or any p12 team? One reason is familiarity sure. For instance we know and respect Mike Riley, so sure go ahead and root for them.

But we recruit against teams like UW and UCLA. And USC. And Oregon. Unless we are in the hunt for a BCS bowl or NCG, strength of schedule doesn't mean anything, so p12 teams winning isn't good for us. Now if we're in the hunt, it might be good to have USC or Oregon to run the table (obviously until our game), because if we can't beat them in the regular season, they could go to the NCG and free up the Rose Bowl. Are we going to the Rose Bowl this year? I really really doubt it.

LSU will get their recruits. UW is up in the air. if they get crushed, that means more for the rest of the pac....

Also, more simply, are you actually rooting for UW after this offseason?

Oregon St beats Wisky.....great for them and Pac12

UCLA looks like it will beat ranked Nebraska..great for them and Pac12...

Our rep ain't great but this weekend it will go UP UP UP....
