At the end of the ASU game, wonder if he ready to go this week. Might see the backup(s) even if Tedford doesn't want us to. Either way, i can't see Zack lasting the season without some injuries due to the O line and no bye week.

Bottom line is that guys like Zach put their bodies on the line repping our school so we should always keep that in mind and respect that. Thanks for your hard work and commitment.

He could have a broken foot and JT would still probably trot him out.

You're probably exaggerating but you may be right

Unless his leg is literally severed, he'll be starting and playing the entire game. See Nate Longshore.

I'm writing this season off anyway. Might as well stick in Bridg/Hinder/Boehm and see what happens.

This should not happen. No pay, no play.

Well if Maynard is starting for his mobility and his ability to extend plays, it would go against Coach's own logic to trot him out their if he can't move around. That would truly be beyond disappointing. Want to see of the guys behind Bridge can do anything even if it is just scrambling around and playing backyard ball

He manages the "limp" at the end of several bad games. Check it out.

I believe Zach is trying his best, but he's not that mobile, athletic, or has good instincts (in the pocket, or even knowing how to dive to reach the sticks).

And some of you guys wonder why Bigelow hasn't been playing. Amazing. Doesn't anyone remember Lawrence Phillips??!!

This comment from Moraga says quite a bit - what JT did with Longshore & what he might do again. At least Longshore was competent, pre-injury. I continue to be concerned about our team as long as JT is in control.

Watching Nate continually hobble around, throwing off is back foot was painful to watch.
I still remember that Pick-6 to the Bruins Alterraun Verner.
Ugh.

The worst was against ASU when DeSean had about 5 yards on his man and Nate threw the ball short enough to be intercepted anyway. Ugh. I still don't understand why he wasn't sat on the bench right away after that.

Because JT would have said (or did say), Nate gave us the best chance to win.

Agree, it wouldn't have been punishment--it would have been simply recognizing that he was physically unable to perform.

Plus Riley actually played amazing as Longshore's back-up, when he got in he made plays:

So there was an obvious alternative. Even with the loss to OSU, we were still playing for BCS and the Rose Bowl.

Bingo -- it would have been for his own good. He could have come back the following season much stronger than he did. Riley would have had a nice transition by maybe finishing out the ASU game and then starting against WSU the next week (a fairly easy opponent). Both guys probably would have been better off.

A lot of people blamed Nate for his performance after the injury. Not me -- I blame JT for putting an obviously injured QB on the field for 5 complete games.
