If next year he starts Zach Kline, and they start winning again.

I love Kline's potential at QB, but something tells me he might end up running for cover like Tyler Wilson at Arkansas.
The whole QB = Messiah deal at Cal is pathetic. Like the top dogs of the PAC (Oregon and USC) Kline needs to be surrounded by similar talent on the other Units if Cal wants to reach the Rose Bowl or any decent Bowl during his career.

Tedfor could win with a good qb despite his own issues.

I don't agree. I think a QB would have to be a bit better than A Rodgers to overcome the current Tedford. We're talking all-american caliber!

Nope. Jeez, how many boneheaded things does a coach have to do before people have had it with him?? How less inspiring could a coach possibly be?
This Board has been far too patient with Tedford - these are not new developments...

Why would a 4-game sample size indicate a change as opposed to the negative trends of 6 straight seasons?
Cal can go 3-1, create false optimism on this board, have 8-9 win expectations next year, and likely go 6-6 again.

laugh all you want. But against USC (even with all the screw-ups by the Oline and ZM), Cal was down by just 8 points in the 4th quarter and driving for a TD until ZM threw a pick in the endzone to a covered receiver. What hurt more than anything, is that there was a wide open Cal receiver just behind the covered receiver.
So with a better QB, Cal probably gets that TD and avoids the earlier (and later) mistakes by ZM. IMO the USC game was as win-able as the Nevada and ASU games.
