Yeah, cause Maynard played so well.
Honestly, watching the two of them makes me wonder what the hell the QB's do during practice.

That 15 yard dart AB delivered when he stepped up was better than almost anything ZM did this season. Just makes it so much more infuriating that JT didn't develop a guy that could you know... actually throw a ball.

LOL at the OP. That's by Maynard plays? Bridgford was vastly superior coming in with approximately zero snaps in months. Down by 8, game on the line, he marched the team up the field. Last few play calls sucked.

Kept his composure - improvised to Powe for a long gain (called back due to penalth) but then hit Rodgers for the big first.
Good pocket presence too -stepped up when he had to and didn't take a sack. He did make two overthrows but he came in cold with no practice at all - liked what I saw.

The fact he stepped up 'into the pocket' and threw the ball and not ran for the sideline at the first sign of pressure, was impressive.

He should have been playing the entire season. Simply no question he's better than Maynard. My dear departed Grandmother is better than Maynard.
I also liked what I saw. Damn Tedford for refusing to give him playing time this year.

I thought he looked terrible last year when he got his chance, but his misses during the Nevada game seemed like near misses.

Yes. What I've been saying since the Nevada game.
People need to watch the plays again and see why they think he's so terrible. Of course, you'll get the standard answers of "he fumbles the handoffs" or "he can't put zip on his passes" and "he floats his passes" and "he's got no mobility and would get demolished behind our terrible OL -- that's why we're better off with Maynard."
So stupid.

Yeah, I don't get the title of this thread at all.
Maynard looks like a guy from Revenge of the Nerds playing QB.
His demeanor, his throwing motion, his apparent leadership looks and has always looked HARRIBLE.
And that has always, ALWAYS left me and other fans feeling demoralized.
Imagine what it's like to play with the guy.
Maynard, on the other hand, looked brimming with confidence, looked like he was TRYING to take charge.
I don't mean to wish injuries on anybody, but I look forward to the Post-Package Deal era.

People who have been advocating Maynard over Bridgford are as blind as Tedford. FFS, his throws were amazing under the circumstances. If he had two season of experience he'd be ten times the QB that Maynard is instead of just five. Cheers to Bridgford for looking respectable.

Theres no way I can say that Bridgford is better than Maynard nor state that he gives us the best chance to win based off what I have seen in Spring Practice, Spring Game, Nevada Game, and Tonights game.

Bridgford was 2 for 7 for 26 yards. If Shamburger didn't get the pass interference call we would've been off the field much sooner. Its obvious Maynard is no All American but he made plenty of good throws tonight that recievers simply couldn't hang on to. Theres no way I can say that Bridgford is better than Maynard nor state that he gives us the best chance to win based off what I have seen in Spring Practice, Spring Game, Nevada Game, and Tonights game.

First of all I hope Zach is OK. His knee was wrenched. Get well Zach. That said, he is very inaccurate. That throw to Bigelow behind the line was just an example of how erratic he is. He was like that all game. The best throw he made as the throw to Shaq. What was he looking at? AB does have zip on his throws and he seems to have pocket awareness. That said, I think Hinder or Boehm would be better.
It doesn't matter. Time for something new. New coaches please. All of them. Get well Zach. Thanks for playing hard for us.

The fact that we are even throwing backward passes with Maynard is a serious head scratcher.
