If ANY of this is true, it seems that Tedford was indeed burned out and didn't want to deal with all the BS and hoped that the machine was oiled enough to win games.

He was wrong and his lack of assertiveness sealed his fate. When you lose the locker room via losing, all this drama BS is difficult to correct. The program and Tedford needed a reset by separating.

Hope the next coach instills a TOUGH mentality and hold all athletes accountable.

Remeber when KA21 said ' we just don't know what's really going on". He was right. If this crap was going on then eff both of them,. I don't care how many ways you paint it. ZM was not a skilled D1 qb. His stats showed rthe same as Buffalo, he acted like a pouty kid, no leadership.

Yes, JeffEarlWarren -- using his real name -- has been hearing the same things, as he said on the first page.

But somebody did PM me saying he knows a parent, who hasn't heard such things.

The parent just PM'd me a photo of the player's Cal football nametag with his name and number.

And a photo of his backpack with just his number.

You know people know each other in real life right? Its not just all virtual.

My gut feeling says Allen just wanted the receptions record. I am happy he's gone if so, I just refuse to believe a parent would feel the need to pm a poster and go so far to send pictures to prove it.

If this is true then I would expect the problem won't depart with KA and ZM. If any remaining players don't shape up then the new coach should suspend them or kick them off the team. Don't be surprised if this happens.

The allegations about the team's study habits make me sick. Sanctions are the last thing this program needs.

new coach needs to come in and kick some a$$ in the locker room and not take any sh!t from any players. this team was so undisciplined... made me wonder if anybody was in charge... sounds like nobody was.

Yep, once you gave me that little tidbit, and then confirmed my hunch, it was plain as day. Although I can't say I thought it went as deep as it has been detailed here. In retrospect, it explains everything.

Not surprised though, this type of stuff is almost unavoidable on teams with bad leadership. Tedford reaks of a coach that was too comfortable or burnt out or just going through the motions (no doubt about it, really flying around out there, no question, a paralysis by analysis).

In the end, it's always darkest before the dawn. With a new coach, may hope spring eternal. Go Bears!

I spent this evening sitting with a Cal player and his parents watching a high school playoff game and heard things that are consistent with what is said in this thread.. In addition, I asked how Klein looks and was told no-one knows as only the first and second string QB gets any reps. Klein asked if he could be on the scout team so he could get some playing in but was told "no" because they needed him to signal in plays. The sentiment of the players was that Maynard shouldn't have been a starter at any PAC-12 school and everyone was disgusted by it.. Many players didn't want tedford to get fired due to them losing their position coaches, but it makes you wonder how much they actually liked his coaching..

i don't know if this is true (what Okaydo reposted from the PM), but let me just say that NO PLAYER is bigger than the program. i don't care if he is the best WR we've had since Desean, or even if it was Desean himself. i wouldn't want a f*ckin cancer in our locker room causing internal conflict and distrust going on over picking sides.

if this is true, it's a disgrace and i am glad that the man who should've been in charge is now gone.

This verifies many of the theories a lot of us had over the years, but who were bashed for not having any evidence, not being on the team, and just being negative. This was the same behavior and locker room division that happened with Ayoob and Desean in 05, again in 07 with Longshore and Riley, and now ZM and Bridge.

JT tried every year with the Team Matters and accountability themes, but clearly, some bought into it, and some tuned it out. JT was too weak trying to fix it, especially when those players didn't respect him.

SB did the right thing by letting JT go, and I'm certain she knew of what was going down already. Now we need someone who can cut thru the BS and hold the fort strong. If that pisses off the prima donnas, then that is fine too.

this thread is making me rethink what i said earlier this season about my impression that KA was not giving it all at times, felt like he was being lazy on routes. now i don't sound so crazy after all.

We have APR data up to 2011. A new coach would not need to do much to stay ahead of sanctions.

It occurred to me just now; when was the last time someone claimed Tedford was doing it "the right way?"

Anyone who has not been swinging from his nuts between 2007 and now sees nothing new in this thread... Tedford teams were completely undisciplined and at Cal to play bad football. The last 5 years at least have been a Charlie Foxtrot of "doing it wrong."
