Great pickup, along with Carson O'Connell at center.
These are the kinds of guys with potential who can be coached, especially with an easy to learn system instead of a mishmash encyclopedic "play book".

Welcome to Cal! Some quick work by the staff and it looks like the old staff laid out the groundwork. I'm excited to see who else is coming, sounds like the old December offseason visit is working out for us.
Maybe the jump ball fade will be successful for us from now on! 6'5 and a 4.5 40... I'm impressed. Sounds like he might be an early enrollee also.

Looks pretty solid to me. Size is certainly legit and he has a solid build for a HSer. He makes a couple difficult catches so he seems to have good hands. Long strider, not super fast, seems to know how to use his blockers when he has the ball. Needs to learn to catch the ball at the highest point and protect the ball a little better, but those are (or should be) teachable skills.

Not sure what makes you so certain Cavil's not fast but he ran a 10.8 100 in track as a soph and a 4.45 forty this year.
Cue the questions about hand-timed. I don't know. But he's a heck of a lot faster than your estimations.

If he's a legit sub 4.5 40 kid with that size, he would be a consensus 4-star player.
Only ESPN list him as a 4-star, and both Rivals and Scout list him as a low 3-star.

more than an offer ... he was a commit to Ole' Miss and de-committed to come to Cal ... really.
