.. to be some good football. Can the PAC win out?

Holiday Bowl, Baylor vs UCLA: maybe: Bruins almost enjoy home field advantage

Fight Hunger Bowl, ASU vs Navy: No idea how this will turn out, since I've no idea how good Navy is this year.

Alamo Bowl, OSU vs Texas: I think this may be one of the most interesting of the bowl games. Texas has home field advantage, but I really like the Beavers' chances.

Rose Bowl, Stanford vs Wisconsin: Another good matchup that could go either way.

Fiesta Bowl, Kansas State vs Oregon: I like the Ducks' chances in this one as well.

as this will set those winners up for a higher ranking for the 2013 season. When the season starts (with CAL being unranked), CAL winning over these teams will cause CAL to rise faster in the rankings, as opposed to these teams losing in the Bowl Games and having a lower ranking or not being ranked at all. Just sayin. :gobears:

USC plays Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl. On paper would appear that USC should win - but if some of their antics being reported are any true indication of their focus, they could end up on the short end of the scoreboard.

Despite their mediocre season, USC is one of highest profile Pac-12 teams - so a loss to a 6-7 Georgia Tech team would certainly be a black eye.

This has much of the same feel as our infamous 2004 Holiday Bowl debacle. USC expected to be NC contenders and are now in the Holiday Bowl. Of course the big difference is that Cal had really earned a Rose Bowl bid and got screwed out of it whereas USC didn't earn a spot in the NC.

It'll be interesting to see if the Trojans show up or just phone it in.
