Control is everything. What coach ever got that in the NFL? Was there a coach who got that in the last decade?

He isn't going to get more control than the Eagles were offering. He would have reported to the owner, and working side by side with the GM. That's out there for any coach, from the Lurie press conference after Reid left.
The Eagles have facilities and a stadium that are as new as any teams (for the most part) and a fan base that is not only rabid, they have a waiting list as long as the existing season ticket holders. There is no way in hell that he will get more money elsewhere, with the exception of a Jerry Jones offer.
I had serious doubts that Chip could handle the Philly media over the medium to long haul, but that is very speculative on my part. Who knows what he is holding out for..

Oregon is Chip's dream job especially if the alternative is living in Cleveland

I hope that dream job means being held accountable in his dream home for courting Willie Lyles.

I think Philly's gotta be considered an attractive opening currently. What opening to you would constitute an attractive opening?

Chicago looks like a place you could win quickly.

Probably the best of the lot but it's an aging team that has underperformed 2 years in a row and it's expected Vick will be gone. Can you see Foles running Chip's offense?

Maybe he does not have much of an intention of going to the pros. Maybe he has a huge ego and loves being courted and seeing his name tossed around for every job.
Hard to top the control he has at Oregon. Making a huge amount of money in Eugene. Easier to control college players as opposed to pro players. He can basically recruit without much effort thanks to Nike. The pro gig, in my opinion, is overrated.

Maybe not total but Carroll has a high degree of control over personnel decisions in Seattle, as did Holmgren, and Reid may be getting it in KC.

Schefter was also the one saying it's 95% certain that Reid lands with the Cardinals.

I told you that Schefter is an unreliable source.
