I'm not blaming them for the move - that would be silly. But after having experienced a team being taken from your city, and whining and crying about it for years, I think they could show a little more class.

Obviously the Maloofs are the real problem and I've said as much in this thread.

Like someone else said, you paint with a pretty broad brush. I'm from Seattle. I have relatives in Sac. No one deserves to have their team leave. I feel for the fans of Sac. Y'all deserve better. I wish Seattle would get an expansion team instead. The Maloofs did y'all dirty but you already know this...

I think a lot of fans in Seattle, quite frankly, don't know how to react. They are happy about (potentially) getting a team back but also realize that it's coming at someone else's expense. Believe it or not, we're not all classless.

And the other two wins the next season when the Nets made the finals? Clear sign that those Nets would have dominated, I'm sure.

I'm done talking to you. You're either not serious, not honest, or not someone who knows much about basketball.

Next season was another season with a different roster and different circumstances. That's how, for instance, the Lakers could get killed by the Celtics in The Finals one year and then beat them the next. All we can look at is the results from the season in question, which show that a victory against New Jersey was hardly foregone. Possible? Of course! Likely? Maybe. Foregone conclusion? Nope. If ever there was a player who could screw up a big advantage on a big stage Chris Webber was a likely candidate.

I don't know that it is the case in Sacto but fans who don't support their team deserve to lose it. Unfortunately, the NBA often defines fan support as opening the public treasury to subsidize billionaire owners and their millionaire serfs. And the usual candidates for relocation are often raggedy-ass losers that have been mismanaged to that state by incompetent ownership. Who wants to use the public credit card on that kind of white elephant?
