Ravens win it with Special Team play. Imagine that.

wouldn't a holding be just a safety anyway?

Nevertheless how do you not call that? It is the 5th most blatant fuckup by the refs today

Right, to try to peel the guy off of him. You're not serious are you?

Was that the play Harbaugh wanted? Trying to win the game on the kick return?

A lot of missed holding calls that went in the Niners favor.

At least the idiot NFL blackout caused there to be a second half worth watching.

And we dont have to hear about that scumbag murderer anymore.

Wondering the same thing, but Ginn would have had to get out of bounds fast and too far for a FG

Great game. Dry your tears niner fans, your team is young, and for the most part under contract.

Shouldn't have tried to run the clock down on the final drive. Niners shot themselves in the foot. They took scoring a touchdown for granted and it backfired. Left themselves no time at all. Great game though. Football officiating is way too subjective. Always hard when it's your team.

Not one of his important throws today was a touch pass. He days of soft tossing qbs is gone.

I am a Cal basketball fan, but the poor job by the refs in this game is undeniable. Failure to call a clear holding of Crabtree in the endzone on the Niners' last offensive play cost the Niners the game. It's tough to lose, but it's even tougher when the refs cost you the game.

True, except shoving a ref is an automatic ejection and throwing punches is an automatic ejection. The ravens did plenty of both... Williams should have been ejected for sure. I bet he wont even get fined.

Hindsight bias, can't second-guess that, the 9ers were at the 5yl with 3 chances to punch it in.

How do you not eject Williams? How the hell do they call ANYTHING if not those calls?

I could understand calling nothing, but they started by calling the 49ers for covering up the tight end on the FIRST PLAY.

Unbelievable they call that but not the punches or pushing the refs or the ridiculous holdings.

Can't win 'em all. This team should be competing for more championships for the next few years. Obviously not the way you want to start a Super Bowl but loved the resolve and the fight in this team.

Looking forward to 2013.

Crabtree was held. I'm not surprised it wasn't called, but that was defensive holding. I also have to question three straight passes down in that close. How about at least on option for Kap to run it in?

Running the clock down was the right move. You've pretty much lost if you don't score, so you may as well leave no time left for the other guys.

I am still proud of this season. We'll have a chance to get back.

It's not Moss that is suckin. Kap is throwing late. Like Nantz said, Kap likes throwing to open receivers. Ravens are keying on it.

Baloney! Kaepernick had a helluva game. Outplayed Flacco. The Niners secondary played a terrible game and special teams screwed up big time giving up that 108 yard kickoff return. The offense played well enough to win.

Great game, perhaps the best SB ever with extra wacky stuff like a power outage, dueling hairballs and a safety/free kick to end the game. Couldn't ask for much more except a win.

Conventional wisdom suggests the hot team wins and Baltimore was the hot team.

Also the camel picked 5/6 of the last SBs

BTW, who thinks Alex Smith would have won the game? Kap didn't break any runs.

Yes he did. Also, all those deep throws on a line are throws that Smith cannot make. With Smith in the game the Niners lose 34-13.

I thought the ref's decided the game. SHould have called penalties on the Ravens multiple times, inlcuding pushing the ref and throwing punches, but the biggest ones were the obvious hold on the run back opening the second half (right in the middle of the field next to the return man) and the obvious play on Crabtree at the end. Overall, I felt Kap was not great. Receivers were open, but he seemed hesitant to throw. PLay calling at the end was suspect. My friends and I joked that Tedford had been brought in as a special assistant....

Okay he broke some runs but nothing huge or game changing and he didn't win. Baltimore seemed to know how to scheme against it.

Alex Smith would not have prevented Flacco from shredding the Niner secondary early. Smith plays like the Princeton offense in hoop--not dynamic enough to play effective catch up. Colin is awesome and played well. Both teams went into the choke mode and both teams pulled out of their respective death spirals. It was a fabulous hard fought game between two very good teams.

Also, what is your definition of "game changing?" He scored on a 15 yard run to give them a chance to tie with a two-pointer. I'd say that was pretty huge.
