I missed it earlier. How many plays did Lynch play? Was it a set up, that the Defense would just step back and let him walk into the end zone like that?

Just one play. Lynch just walked in. I'm sure the defense was told not to tackle him.

As long as our first string D doesn't get hurt I think we'll be solid at D

How cool to be able to watch the Spring scrimmage at the local bar in Orange County!

That longish completion by Kline into double coverage was purdy.

Who was involved? It was mentioned, but not shown, on the broadcast.

O played slow because of lack of defense depth and they were swapping Oline and QBs everyplay. Looks like they ended the game early because of lack of depth at LB.

I'd hope the offense will be much better in the fall - so many players were out, and still QB instability. So it doesn't say much about our defense right now.

Haha. Cool of the coaches to let Marshawn in the game. I'm sure none of the defenders wanted to go up against him. It would be like hitting a brick wall.

D told not to hit him
... yeah, like telling somebody not to step in front of a moving bus

How cool of Dykes and Marshawn ... in front of fans (10K estimate?)and recruits.

Marshawn could have performed a demo of driving the equipment cart ... lol

From watching the first spring practice to this spring game all the QBs have stepped up their game.. Kline has a bit more touch now and Hinder has gotten faster .. Goff did well but gets too excited with the deep balls

thanks, sounds like it was a very successful spring practice.
Now, onto S&C and workouts, practice without coaches, then fall practice.
The wait begins .. tick, tick, tick

Not being able to "watch" in person, that's an interesting observation. That would lead me to think that Goff will ultimately end up blue shirting and that Kline and Hinder will play to their strengths in the fall and we will see which way Dykes leans. It sounds like Kline hit some pretty deep balls. Also sounds like Hinder can seriously run and is no slouch as a passer

Only saw "4th qtr." Maybe they were all tired. Not all that impressed, sorry.
Kline deep ball into dbl coverage was pretty much all on the receiver.
FG attempt was ridiculous. (Snap to wrong side of holder).

I hope the fire part carries over during games and leave the punches out

The last quarter was also rushed due to time constraints and they were rotating in 3rd and 4th string guys

Not true. Great catch, but he put the ball where only his guy could get it. And all 4 long balls in last posseasion were catchable. The first to #81 was perfect but misplayed by receiver - short armed it. Hinder threw one nice long ball. Otherwise Kline was only one to give offense a chance on 3rd and long or when time is short at end of a half.

pass aside.....are you related to Kline or something? why are you always adamantly defending Kline? horse in the race?

Rewatch the 1st and 2nd (There was no 3rd). They cut the 4th qtr super short. They were basically playing 30 sec offense from the 20, thats why you so alot of deep balls into dbl coverage

I'm not related to Kline but his long passes were accurate. He has by far the best arm if the three. He can stretch the D. Goff has an adequate arm but he lofts his long balls and overthrows the receiver. Hinder has good touch but no zip. Best runner though so Hinder good at goal line when you can't go deep and gives run option.

While all the QB's had their moments of inconsistency, when they got into their last drive with about 3 minutes left (running clock), the balls Kline threw were pretty much only possible catches by his receivers.

I thought he was going to connect with Whitehurst on his first throw of the last series as well, but that throw to move the Bears into scoring position sure looked like he dropped it into a really tight window with defenders all around. Few QB's can make that throw.

On the other hand, not sure if Kline made that throw because of the situation (2 minute drill) or he just tried to fit it in there - because you gotta figure with the multiple defenders around the ball, that there might have been a check down receiver open on that play as well.

im not really asking the question with today's spring game in mind. i'm talking about CalGaoTe's history of doing so since creating his account on here.

I'm a Kline fan, but I'm not going to lie there was a point during the spring game where after seeing Hinder run I wanted him to do well enough to give him the edge going to into the fall ... If he can improve his arm strength and accuracy over the next 5 months he has a very good chance of starting.

I was also pleasantly surprise to see Kline run quite well too.

I'm watching the game right now because I couldn't earlier. One thing I just wanted to say, that was awesome seeing Marshawn out there! I was going to jump on here and say gosh, where's Aaron at? Is he still mad at us?! Then I saw his awesome PAC 12 network commercial! Good stuff! Thanks Aaron!

Goff and Kline seem like the best QB's thus far...

Agree. If the O-Line doesn't pick it up substantally, we are going to need someone who can roll out alot and run for their life. But, hopefully, the O-Line will eventually jell, and will undergo a huge amount of S&C between now and Fall.
