I love Tony Franklin. Always have. When was the last time we heard a coach blame himself instead of throwing a bunch of teenagers under the bus? Anyone who has listened to my whining the past few years knows this was always my big hot button with the former regime. Gotta love the way Tony handled this....

I totally agree with you. I love Tony's interview. No coachspeak/CEO bs that everything is fine and that we just need to tweak a few things. Call a spade and spade and move on. He is a coach/teacher and not some political guy looking to move upward. He knows his guys need more coaching and work and he's going to be the one doing the coaching. I love that. I love that about coaching: you see the things that need work, you make your plans and then you go coach your players and they get better. The big problem he/Sonny have he touched on: they have to pick a starting QB so he can get a lot more reps and judging by yesterday (the only day I've watched) all the QBs are about equal. I hope they see something right out of the gate in August and name a starter who then gets a ton of reps until the first game. Yesterday was ugly.

Kline said right things but seemed very down emotionally. I think he believes he blew a big opportunity. Goff, who played marginally better, primarily on one series, seemed more satisfied. I think I prefer qb who recognizes he played poorly than one who thinks he played well when he did not.

Very well stated. I get the impression the "best" guy for the QB job will be the one they name during the first week of fall camp - no matter which of the three it is ...

Just watched the Franklin interview. Every time I listen to him I come away incredibly impressed. I'm glad he's with the Bears!!!
