In a tweeting binge following the explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, the Westboro Baptist Church celebrated the carnage and announced its intention to picket the funerals of victims.

The tiny Topeka, Kan., fundamentalist group urged the U.S. government to "reinstate" the death penalty for homosexuality and warned "violence will fully consume u [sic]" if that doesn't happen. Most of the church's tweets said same-sex marriage caused the bombing, but others mentioned abortion and supposed mistreatment of the church.

A news release dated April 15 announced the church's intention to picket the funerals of the three bombing victims. Massachusetts, the release says, "invited this special wrath from God Almighty when it was the FIRST STATE to pass same-sex marriage" in 2004. "Westboro Baptist Church to picket funerals of those dead by Boston Bombs! GOD SENT THE BOMBS IN FURY OVER FAG MARRIAGE! #PraiseGod," said a tweet from the church's @WBCFliers account.

As far as we know they haven't killed or physically injured anyone. More like domestic idiots.

..except that 4chan IDd three or four different suspects, gets some basic stuff wrong (in this image that's not the boy who died; he was at the other bomb site with his family) and takes care to circle attractive girls' butts even as they're annotating possible subjects. be interesting to find out though whether one of their possibles was the guy the Feds are targeting.

Westboro are clearly idiots. However, the thinking of people who can cheer the bombs as justifiable may be indicative of the thinking of those who set the bombs. Unfortunately Westboro are not the only nuts in this country who believe God hates gays (and that in turn endangers America) and believe President Obama is the Antichrist.

So ... bombings and sufering here on Earth are proof of God's disfavor for sins committed in this life.

If you follow their logic(?) the Sermon on the Mount should have said:
Blessed are the Rich and Well Off for they are favored by God.
Damned are the poor and suffering; they suffer because they have done wrong and have lost God's favor .

Looks like the second suspect is down. Cornered on a boat, of all things...

These are not bright people. They tried to read the Bible once and but never made it past Genesis. Those stories about Noah, Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah sure made an impression on them though.
