Where are the natural leaders?

Really liked what Justin Cobbs said after the tough basketball loss to Syracuse- praising his young teammates for their great effort despite missing their big man, Richard Solomon. He has truly been a team leader on court and off- but it made me think about football- where were our leaders? i know what Coach Dykes said, but what about the players? Did anyone say we'd be back stronger than ever? Did anyone say they were determined to lead us to a bowl game? Did anyone say they'd work twice as hard this offseason? Did anyone praise their teammates?

Well, if he's about to transfer then he can't be one of the natural leaders... NEXT!

It all went downhill after someone stole the bike.

We have none right now. That's the problem. Aside from hitting the weight room, Goff needs to step up and be that leader on offense.

Defense? The position of "leader" is wide open. Anyone...? Bueller...?

And I really hope Bigelow can build on his late-season success and be that leader in the running game we desperately need. I love to see 2014 be his year, for him and us.

I miss Morgan Beck, Allison Stokke and Alex Morgan. We don't have leaders like those anymore...do we?

They are there. But it is hard for an underclassman to assume this role. You have to earn the respect of those you lead. That takes time. Most of these guys must have been leaders in HS. They know how to do it. Maybe that is why they are waiting, waiting for the right moment to step up. The right moment isn't just when the team needs you but also after you have proven you know where you would lead them to. Patience.

Avery seems like a leader among the defensive players.
