Cal players landing in the NFL was a big selling point under Tedford. These underclassmen this year were all recruited under JT as well. Can Dykes sell that NFL dream as easily? Probably not.

One thing Tedford did right was having good solid position coaches that taught skill sets required to make a better as a player, as well as more complicated schemes on both D and O. Even if our playcalling was bad on a gameday, or our lines were getting blown apart, or our coaches were older w/o as much recruiting acumen, a lot of players had a jumpstart on fitting into the league. I don't see that players would have that confidence in our current staff, though some positions (like WR) are probably better coached than others.

Best of luck to our early entrants... I'm not trying to bash them, but obviously it's an uphill battle for some.

Maybe the "cupboard" wasn't as empty as some on BI were intitially led to believe. Maybe this 1-11 team actually did have the talent to compete in the Pac-12 but simply lacked the coaching.

before we talk about talent lets wait and see where the Cal dudes get drafted- if they are drafted at all.
