man 2005 was the year for all three to be on the field together. can't blame aaron for going, especially when #1 overall was very possible. arg.
As good as Desean was a freshman, we had better receivers in 2004 than in 2005. Geoff MacArthur and Chase Lyman were in their senior years and absolutely dominant. And we had some very good supporting receivers as well -- Cross, Makkonen, Jordan, etc.
I would take either senior MacArthur or senior Lyman over freshman Desean any day of the week. The problem was that they were both out before Texas Tech.
So the real problem isn't that Rodgers went early. The problem is that Desean is two or three years younger than he should have been.
Can you imagine an offense that had Rodgers, Arrington, Lynch, Cross, that dominant OL, Lyman, MacArthur
AND a sophomore or junior Desean?!?!?!?! We would have outscored USC by 50 points and went on to win the National Championship.
