Problem is that the play requires him to make a perfect throw to have a chance at success. And to Sherman's side of the field? Got to question the decision-making here.
It wasn't really that risky of a play, because it's very hard for the CB covering Crabtree on that throw to actually come up with the pick, definitely harder than MC coming up with the catch. Sherman however had prepared and planned to tip the ball to his teammate as soon as he knew the throw was coming his way, and he executed that tip beautifully. Outstanding awareness and preparation there, he delivers the game ball on a silver platter.
On a personal level though, he does come out as a jerk. The worst aspect of this post-game incident is not that he acted like a trash-talking bad winner, his worst transgression is that he was dishonest, having claimed that he was extending his arm to Crabtree out of sportsmanship, when it was clearly a taunt. As a 2nd year NFLer and all-pro CB he is an amazing player who is ahead of his experience level, but as a human being he is an immature a$$.
