what's the salary hit for desean? a 3rd rounder for any team looking to get over the hump and win the super bowl seems like a good deal for DeSean, especially if one believe's the teams' window is closing. Would love to see DJAX torch that jaggoff Sherman.

As the article says, NE is stocked on smaller speedy receivers.

Definitely not SF. He wouldn't be a starter on the Niners and the kinda money he earns would require that he start wherever he will go...

Now, if he wants to be a third receiver playing in the slot and receiving a comensurate wage, he would be welcome in SF.

Don't kid yourself or let your hate of Desean reach the logical conclusion. DeSean is the perfect type of WR in the 49ers' system. The 49ers have a bunch of possession wide receivers...none of whom can take full advantage of Kaepernick's arm strength. They tried to alleviate this by drafting the speedster from Illinois but he was a big bust. Besides this team needs to be built to beat the Seahawks...they are the standard right now. A small, speedy receiver is the type that can beat that Seahawk secondary. His salary will probably prevent him from being a Niner though...they need to clear the deck a bit for next year when Kaep is up.

he would start. boldin would be in the slot and desean would be outside. youd see them run a lot of 3 wr sets on 2nd and long and 3rd and long. if they could get him for a year or two thatd be great.

Ironically Seattle now needs WRs since Tate went elsewhere. DJax seems like a natural fit with Sherman...brothers in smack talk. Also I think Pete could tell DJax to zip it without much issue. (Don't think he'd get the same love in SF with Hairball.) Given Seattle's conservative offense, a small speedy WR would make sense, air it out every so often as it were. But they need all kinds of WRs help.

Lol, DJax had more yards and touchdowns than any of the 9'er receivers last year. Statistically, DJax was a top-10 receiver last year. 9'ers had none in that list...

That's just laughable. He's still in the prime of his career and is coming off a Pro Bowl season. You're thinking too highly of Crabtree, but like Sherman said, Crabtree is a "sorry" receiver. Kaep's obsession with trying to get him the ball cost the Niners a chance to head to the Super Bowl this year and cost them the Super Bowl the year before that.

I would hate to see Desean in such a puke color .... But silver and black maybe .....

That's a bit of an oversimplification, IMO. There were many, many plays in each game
(many of which were far more significant) that could have turned them in the Niner's
favor. Not to mention that this "obsession" as you call it was about 6-8 inches short
of landing in Crabtree's hands vs. Seattle, and the interception tip was definitely a lucky play for the Seahawks.....and a blatant hold from landing in his hands vs. the Ravens.

NoCal ? Really? I've never liked that, if anything I'd use NorCal. Hey, but that's just me...

Desean would be a huge get for the Niners. The threat of Kaepernick to Jackson would stretch the defense and open up all kinds of stuff underneath, including Kaep running.

"NoCal" instead of "NorCal" is totally a SoCal thing (see "Frisco"). Jim Rome (especially) uses it--I think to be a bit of a douche.

THAT would be awesome. DeSean back in the East Bay!

Even better would be DeSean in Seattle! Imagine him on the Seahawks. Finally, the Seahawks would have a good WR. That Seahawk team might go undefeated.

As noted in an article at csnbayarea.com, the Niners value team above all else. Jackson wouldn't fit in to a situation in which he would earn $3 million more than the next highest paid offensive player. Talk about ruining team chemistry......

If Jackson is so damn valuable why would Philly want to dump him for a third round draft choice? Skip Jackson, find another guy in the draft and pay Kaep.....

We're not going to win the SuperBowl with that thinking. We're not going to draft anyone near desean's level (all-pros don't grow on trees) I guess the patriots looking at him too is a suckers bet?

Jackson is a lot like Terrell Owens.... A talented guy who will play his way off team after team after team because of a crappy attitude (we got a glimpse of this while he was at Cal). It is sad because he could be a mainstay on a winning team if he had his head screwed on straight.

Seattle doesnt need Desean. They have the same exact player in Harvin. Meanwhile the Niners need a speedy deep threat which Desean can give.

I can see a trade of Desean + cash for LMJ + third round pick.

Desean has only been on one NFL team and as far as we know, he was a model citizen at Cal. Terrell has mental issues and desean's actions is no where close to Terell's antics including 7 NFL teams, drug use, poor public persona, bankruptcy, and attempted suicide. Stop disparaging Cal players with nonsense.

Here we go again with the stupid "You can't cheer for the Niners because they wear Red and never draft Cal players..."

Please, if the Niners had drafted Aaron Rodgers, there wouldn't be any of this anti-Niners BS.

And I wonder how many of you are Angels fans. After all, they wear Red too.

If someone loves the Niners and hates Cal players why not just post those opinions on the Niner board (or the Stanford or USC board)?
