Looks like it will be a little more limited this spring.

Man, the schedule corresponds with me being out of town.

There's only 1 day I could attend, but it's so early in the day, I don't know if it's worth it.

Why aren't there more late evening practices?

Looks like the top of the press release contradicts the bottom. Is there Open Practice on Wed Apr 9 or Fri Apr 11?

I would guess that they don't want late practices so the kids have time to study, and there could be a field sharing issue (Women's lacrosse?).

Correct on the practice times. They want to give the guys the nights to study.

Why not Saturday the 19th? That should be the most revealing practice.

Maybe that's why?

I very much hope that Sonny keeps his open door policy and that this shifting to more inconvenient times of the day (at least for fans) really is nothing more than an effort to accomodate the students as MB say. I think I'm just hyper-sensitive to anything that seems like it's decreasing access given what happened with JT. That didn't happen overnight, but by the end it seemed like he was working on the Manhattan Project in Strawberry Canyon. Sonny's policies for last year's practices were such a refreshing change - would hate to see him start to close up.

But last year the 'fan convenient' evening practices drew fewer people than top dog. So it's not like thousands of people are going to be disappointed. I don't really care if Sonny has the national guard throw up a three block perimeter around the place all spring, as long as in the fall they show up with an offensive line equipped to do more than yell 'look out' to the backfield.

Wednesday April 9 is correct, not Fri the 11th.

True. I just see very little correlation between success on the field and closing practices. If one led to the other they could have these things in NORAD as far as I'm concerned.

I usually try to make it up for a few practices each Spring, but this schedule looks virtually undoable for me. Suspect others will be in the same boat and our "lightly attended" open practices will go to "wholly unattended."

Please let the closing of practices mean we're upgrading our offensive schemes and running something a bit more complicated than the 8th grade offense we ran last year. One thing I'm sure, we were not fooling ANYONE on offense past about week 5 or 6. Time to incorporate some new concepts please!!!

Our offense isn't predicated on trickery, it's based on execution. That's a core tenet of the TFS and that's not changing any time soon.

Our offensive, offensive line precluded the Bears from executing most of the Bear Raid. I am agnostic on any particular offensive or defensive scheme, but you need decent, motivated players to work any plan. We didn't have nearly enough of those last year.
