Is it just my impression or are Cal students more OK with standing in long lines than most people? Look how long people line up on free cone day at Ben & Jerry's in Berkeley, or at any new place. Everyone's just used to it at Cal, and if you're with a pack of friends you don't really notice.

Anyway, that's why this InO (which I knew was a hoax) would have insanely long lines forever if it actually existed.

Unless it were a block long with 100 registers. Imagine the CoB approving that.

Cuz Cal students are cheap and/or have no monies.

Doh, might be a hoax:
Too good to be true I suppose. Can't imagine CoB would ever let them in.

And I can't imagine that In-N-Out would want to be located in the cesspool that is Telegraph Avenue. They tend to have establishments that are very clean and welcoming, inside and outside. There is no such thing as a clean establishment on Telegraph, and it's impossible to keep the homeless and transients from plopping on the sidewalk outside. The Shattuck area would be more like it.

I don't buy it.
There are a couple places that I am aware of that don't meet the typical stand-alone design....San Antonio comes to mind...and I seem to recall seeing one in SoCal taking a shuttle to the Burbank airport. It was in what looked like the ground floor of a parking garage/mall.

Looking forward to avoiding the ridiculous lines...

That place should be regulated like...better than a bank.

I remember going to a place on College Ave for killer burgers. It's a little off campus, past Safeway I think. Wonder if it's still there.

Okay, I give up; For years all I ever heard was In and Out this and In and Out that. Soooo, what's the big deal? Sure I never been there, but how much better can a place that looks like Mac Donald's be better than Mac Donald's? If you want Mac Donald's you might as well go to the worse one in the state of California at University and Shattuck where students who haven't studied for their final eat and then go to the Hospital.

Claremont Diner, Barclay's and Barney's are the only one's that have burgers until way past the BART station. I suspect you're referring to Barney's....though the other two are pretty good.

Has anybody tried Christopher's Burgers? It's on College about 1 or 2 blocks from Broadway.

I always pass by, and am always tempted to go on....someday I will.

That's the one right there, good stuff.

Okaydo, don't go to Christopher's man, they're dry and bland there.

I know the former owner of Christopher's. It was very good when it first opened. Then the owner sold it to concentrate on his restaurant that is right next door, marica. It's gone way down hill with the new owners. But his current restaurant is excellent.

UCLA has one a block from campus.

USC has jack squat around campus, not that you'd want to venture out on foot around there at night anyways...

Though it's getting better; on the safe side there's now a Wich Wich, Chipotle, and Chick-fil-a nearby, and on campus they have a Lemonade and The Habit, which I consider to be better than In-N-Out.

Ah yes, Figueroa's finest... "Fat Row".

Or better yet, read his book "Fast Food Nation." Mr. Schlosser says a LOT about fast food in the US - like the meat in a MacDonald's burger can come from as many as 1,000 cows. That's bad if there's an outbreak of, for example, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease where they source their meat (not the US - making it even worse). Think about how much meat ONE sick cow can contaminate with meat production practices like that.

He says the ONLY fast food establishment he patronizes is In-N-Out because they use quality ingredients and don't sell ecoli burgers.

No big deal. No one goes to In-and-Out anymore. It's too crowded.

It is but what is also interesting is that it is the original McD concept-just burger, fries and shakes.
