Skov won't make that roster.
NaVarro Bowman in his cast can outrun Skov.

Holy sh!t! That's the first time I saw that because, during the game, at the time, I had my head on my knees, sobbing, and, after the game, I was too depressed to watch any of it again. All the pissant plays that got called and that wasn't called?!? He should've gotten banned for the rest of the season.

It's textbook targeting and launching. Makes McCain's call even more of a joke.

No, but it's not going to make me dislike the person I got to know.

I have mixed feelings about Skov as a person.
He just lost his mother after a prolonged degeneration due to MS.
He has had a somewhat difficult life.
But, unfortunately, I think he uses that as justification to be dirty on the field and the officials have let him get away with it.
None of this has anything to do with why he was not drafted. But, if you followed the draft, there were many stories that could not really be explained.
For example, absolutely nobody understands why the Cleveland Browns did not draft a WR.
Similarly, many players went way lower than expected. For example, Marion Grice, who was one of the best RBs in the pac-12 last year, went late in the 6th round. And Dion Bailey (safety USC) did not get drafted either.
Welcome to the world of executive metrics. The scouting of talent has gotten very abstract to the point where a player's college career is almost irrelevant.
If I was a GM, I would have drafted Shayne no later than 4th round and maybe as high as 2nd round. I've never seen another player, at any level, time a blitz better than Skov. And he is a natural born leader whose skill set translates to the NFL.

Maybe he's taking a year off to write a book with Wilner?

Quote:
According to a handout produced by College Football Officiating, LLC, if officials see the following things, the risk of a targeting foul is high:
Launching toward an opponent to make contact in the head or neck area.
A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust with contact at the head or neck area.
Leading with the helmet, forearm, fist, hand or elbow into the head or neck area.
Lowering the head before attacking and initiating with the crown of the helmet.
According to that same handout, the following factors would indicate less risk of a targeting penalty being called:
A heads-up tackle where the crown of the helmet does not strike above the shoulders.
A wrap-up tackle.
The head is to the side rather than used to initiate contact.
Incidental helmet contact due to players changing position during the play.

Interesting stuff about Furd's draft class and Skov. You'd think after winning a Pac12 conference title and being decent for a few years they'd have better/more players entering the NFL...so what gives?
Is Furd considered soft in the NFL? Or if players peak in college with PEDs/cold glove, think the NFL can figure that out? (Logically if a player peaks in college, not that much left for the pros.)

They had six picks but mostly in later rounds. Fortt over Skov has to burn them.

I think Rich Rodg was picked before any Furder.

Don't mean to hint that your Skov comfort zone should be rattled ... but ... admitting that you're filtering out visual proof that the guy's a thug doesn't make your "liking" Slov very convincing.
Give him a warm hug the next time you see him if that'll make your day.

What makes him a thug? I didn't say I was filtering out anything. I said it doesn't change my opinion about him as a person

I bet Fortt says Penn St. In his pregame intro.

... I don't want to be a hater, but Fortt got drafted early? That's kind of insane.
