He ran a 5.1 40 at pro day I believe. Reportedly injured, but if so, he never should have run. Couldn't have happened to a better guy.

I have mixed feelings about Skov as a person.
He just lost his mother after a prolonged degeneration due to MS.
He has had a somewhat difficult life.
But, unfortunately, I think he uses that as justification to be dirty on the field and the officials have let him get away with it.
None of this has anything to do with why he was not drafted. But, if you followed the draft, there were many stories that could not really be explained.
For example, absolutely nobody understands why the Cleveland Browns did not draft a WR.
Similarly, many players went way lower than expected. For example, Marion Grice, who was one of the best RBs in the pac-12 last year, went late in the 6th round. And Dion Bailey (safety USC) did not get drafted either.
Welcome to the world of executive metrics. The scouting of talent has gotten very abstract to the point where a player's college career is almost irrelevant.
If I was a GM, I would have drafted Shayne no later than 4th round and maybe as high as 2nd round. I've never seen another player, at any level, time a blitz better than Skov. And he is a natural born leader whose skill set translates to the NFL.

5.1 40's get u UDF status period. He doesn't get drafted despite his production for the same reason that fortt does get drafted despite his injury history and poor production
I'm a fan of Skov. I trained with his trainer along side him before he committed to Stanford. I got to know him a bit obviously off the football field along with Patrick and those are two great and humble kids. A switch flips on with Shayne when he steps on the field and I'm glad the Niners picked him up.
