A lot of confusion still out there, but better execution by the players for sure. I put the substitution and management mistakes on the coaches.

It looks like the changes Kaufman put in are working. I heard he tries to take a lot of the thinking and reads out and allow the players to use their instincts and athleticism. You see the effects on the 2 running plays Northwestern tried on that last drive, both were stopped quickly.

Interesting stat. At this point in the game Cal has run the ball 19 times and only attempted 16 passes. It looks like Dykes wasn't kidding about wanting to run the ball quite a bit more.
