Well Cougs come in with momentum after defeating previously unbeaten UTAH on the road. Similar to our loss, Wazzou's losses have all been extremely close including 38-31 against Oregon (That game was nearly tied throughout)

I use a website called cfbstats.com

They have a rather extensive collection of statistics and they compile every Sunday. Best they allow you to look a just 1 team, or you can look at conference and national ratings. The team ratings even do a lot of splits so you can look at say passing success on first and ten or success running the ball at away games only.

Much appreciated, thank you. I do go there occasionally, but I need to do so more apparently. Should save me some time doing things manually. I have it bookmarked on my main computer, that has been in the garage as we are still remodeling a new home... Thanks again.

Finally a like that looks like Vegas is paying attention. Hoping we surprise a few people with a nice and relatively drama-free upset (but not holding my breath for that)

thank Mv .. yes not great defense numbers .. but

what stands out to me .. NO 90 ,80 ,70 or 60 yard pass plays ... that to me is good start

He threw 89 times (completed 58) last year against Oregon, the national record. He's had pretty good protection this year and his sacks are way down but, he still makes some questionable decisions that lead to picks.

Actually, both Mayle (6'3", 219) and Williams (6'2", 190) are the kind of receivers that you can go to in the red zone, as Williams did twice against Oregon. Those plays both were over the Ducks" AA CB Ekpre-Olomu by the way.

Our running will be a major key ... eating up time and getting to the end zone a bit more slowly.
But, if Lasco and Khalfani get into open space ....

If Lasco and Khalfani get into open space, its TD Bears. That's a good thing, despite the myth widely perpetuated on this board.

Time of possession is overrated. Do you hate kickoff return TDs?

honestly, our offense is starting to resemble ... dare I say ... Oregon's. Chip Kelly's main stat was aways "points per play". Meaning, high efficiency. I feel like we are there. Goff had the same stats as Seifo, but with 20+ less pass attempts. We have the ability to score from anywhere on the field. ANYWHEEEEREEEEEEE!

Lets not forget that Rutgers has looked better recently as has Northwestern.
Rutgers is favored over Michigan this weekend.

These stats are a little jumbled (I don't have time to clean it up), but you can see that Cal and Oregon are pretty close :

TEAM CONF GP PTS PTSG YDS YDSG TP YD/P FD FDPG

Thanks BGolden.

I dropped it into a spreadsheet to better read it, and saw how it was sorted.

Some will naturally respond with look who we played, which is a natural response, but one would or should say who has Baylor played thus far, Michigan State, Oregon, etc? Most big conference teams generally have their easiest games to start the season, so it's not like apples / oranges...

And just like the Ducks don't hang 50+ on the best Ds, we should not expect the same. It would be great of course, but we should be realistic with the expectation setting going-forward. So, yes, all the more reason to get our D in tip top form.

2013, we gave-up about 46 ppg. This year, 36. Might not seem like an improvement for the casual obeserver, but that's pretty huge, so far. If we can get that below 30 ppg, with this O, a bowl game is seemingly in striking distance.

I definitely would take WSU if I was a betting man. They have looked strong in the past 2 games and that Nevada game could easily have turned out a lot differently. WSU at home (the middle of nowhere) feeling confident with a crazy coach who will call it like he sees it: we can't defend the pass -- this has the makings of a disaster.
