Leach went to the ground to keep Goff off the field, it almost worked.

In the end their kicker was so gassed out after chasing Davis that he didn't have enough left in his tank to hit the ball between the uprights!:p

To be fair, we "lost" two drives to ~100 yard TD returns. Based on the rest of the game we likely would have had significant stats both passing and rushing on those drives that might have changed the final box. We won.

Damn right. This is the brand of football the team I love is playing, so God bless. So what if this isn't what I grew up watching? People hated the forward pass when that was introduced as well. This team is entertaining and the kids are having fun and there's no risk of me dozing off in the 4th quarter. GO BEARS!!!!!!

I loved Sonny's post game comments giving all the credit to the kids. It is hard not to love this group of student athletes who laid it all on the line for the Bear Victory. As in golf, it is not how, it is how many. We are 4-1, and we may have a chance in every game we play. That is a very exciting thought. GO BEARS!!!!

Disagree.

Of course I prefer any win, be it 3-0 or 60-59, to any loss. This is just about the aesthetics of football, not a commentary on our program.

That said, I think the game is best when scores are normalized in the 31-28 range. The problem with these 100+ point nuclear wars is they dilute the intensity of the game. When scoring is too low, game flow stagnates and boredom sets in. However, when scoring is too commonplace it becomes almost banal. A game with 100+ combined points for teams that average 30 ppg is a crazy event that their fans will never forget. A game with 100+ points for a team whose games routinely break 80 points and often much more than that is hardly memorable. A constant shriek is just as much monotony as a constant dirge.
