Anyone else excited to see how this game turns out? Just realized it's a Friday night game. 'Furd is favored by 17 right now... Seems real high. Real curious to see how legit the 'Furd D is and how it responds to a high passing attack. If WSU stays close, I'll be real optimistic about our chances.

First for them to mention how nobody is at the game.

Then, to see how WSU does against their D, which is gives you some indication of what to expect from an offense that will test them.

+17 Wazzou still has me mystified though.

I'm looking forward to it. I don't get this line. Like, how many points is Furd expected to score?

i wonder how much are those tickets ... ? may end up there instead of sat at cms .. if tickets are 5-7 dollars i can get down their and back for less than going to cms .. smh

I'm actually curious to see WSU's defense against that touted Furd OL! then we can gauge how well our own OL did against them, which seemed solid after the first 1.5 quarters.

I'd be surprised if Furd can even score more than 20ish points total, never mind the 17 point spread...

Passing attack: CAL = WSU
Running attack: CAL > WSU
Pass defense: CAL < WSU (??? or is it approx. =?)
Run defense: CAL > WSU (sampling hurt by so few attempts by WSU)

As a template for our potential success against 'furd, this is a compelling one.

I can't get myself to pay for a non-Cal Furd game. don't want to support them in any way--least of all in contributing to a "sell-out game"!

Jesus, I paid $5 a couple of weeks ago to attend a DLS FRESHMAN game. Furd bastards trying to screw us with that 6 bucks.

I may be all wrong about this game, but I see WSU getting a big win over the Furd. Shaw is sooooooooooo boring and predictable on offense. WSU has a very good front seven and will shut down Furd's run. Since Shaw doesn't know what a forward pass is, that's going to limit the points Furd gets.

If WSU gets a rhythm on offense, they could not only win but win big.

It's Stubhub. The tickets have already been paid for. Furd got their money already. You're just taking them off some poor guy's hands.

I agree. Seeing our opponents play quality competition gives me a better perspective on how good Cal is.

Cal dominates UA until it runs out of gas in the 4th quarter. Looks bad for Cal until you see UA defeat UO.

Cal defeats WSU in a shoot out makes the Cal O look strong but the Cal D look terrible. But the win looks that much better when you see WSU defeating UU (which IMO is a very strong program). If WSU plays stanfurd close, i will be very encouraged.

Cal defeats Colo in another shootout makes the Cal O look strong but the Cal D look terrible. But the win looks better when you see Colo take OSU down to the wire.

All of the games -- UA, WSU and Colo -- look to be good tests for how good Cal might be.

BTW Hogan is injured (leg). Will still play. Wazzu's secondary is not good, but neither is Hogan.

The Furd's defense is indeed legit, but I'm still having a hard time fathoming that they would somehow outscore the Cougs by 17.

I think that the overly muscled Furd defensive players are going to have a tough time keeping the Coogs out of the end zone, especially as the game wears on. Watch for "injured" players who take more time to get off the field than they do on the sidelines (before returning to the game).

Oh it's Friday, that's cool, I can go to the game and root for the Cougs to win (and not Coug it). Since I live in the "Heart of Darkness" it takes no time or effort to get there.

Holy crap, prices are up by 50% since I paid $4 to cheer on Army a few weeks ago. This is outrageous! :headbang But hey, I think WSU will outscore that dinosaur offense and "Heisman candidate" Hogan, so it will be worth the trip.

I would say "=" on the pass defense. You may have noticed that after the 1st Qtr, Cal passed almost at will against WSU, which matches what WSU did against Cal.

Don't these fans have any pride? Selling tickets to get $3-4? I know they bought season tickets, but I wouldn't sell at that price just to not **** off people sitting around me. Then again is none of them show up, no will be there to complain about selling to the random ass.

There were home games for us last year with those Stubhub ticket prices, although where Furd is now compared to us last year is a chasm.

Just placed a little $$ on WSU +17. Seems to be as close to a sure thing as you can get in NCAAF. Surprised the line hasn't gone down at all either.

Yeah, if I couldn't go to the game and was looking at netting a couple of bucks per ticket on stubhub, I wouldn't even bother. Of course, first I'd see if I could give the tickets away.

Yes, lock of the week. The bookies and the general public still see Furd as a BCS program and WSU as a hopeless BDW, neither of which are true right now. WSU is a bad matchup for the Furd, I think they have a decent chance of winning and a near-certainty to beat the ridiculously high spread.

Well, if I am the Furd, I make sure one of my LBs takes an early shot on Halliday. I'm sure they noticed that when Cal did get to him, he wilted like a flower.

I am wanting to see that Stanford DL against that Wazzu passing game

I am pleased to announce that I will be attending WSU @ Stanford as an advance scout. I waited for ticket prices to drop from $6 to $5.25 before grabbing one. I also plan to ride my bike to the game from my nearby office, so as not to fill Stanford's coffers with parking fee money.

If WSU can shred Stanford, I will be really, really excited for Big Game this year.

IF Hogan is hurting and not mobile than WSU will send regular blitzes and see if they can beat Utah for most sacks in a game. Stanford will be in for a very long night.

Also can't wait for the UCLA/Oregon game. Hope they beat each other up.
