I hear ya...the only reason I said that is that back in 2011 and the realignment crap, I posted a bit over there along with GinFizzBear, I think we were about the only Cal guys doing it and at the time, FCHorn treated me fairly and without all the vitriol. I mean, now it is just test to see how many polysyllabic words you can string together in a sentence before you say phuck this, phuck Cal, phuck you....hell, there are 13 yr old school girls looking for their equals in vulgarity. FC is actually one of the few bears who go outside his environment to competently post on another team's board. I call these guys force recon bears. I've seen him rep Cal well on Shaggy and within the venue/culture in which he posts. Maybe he is not fond of all the Cal dorks and posers who show up the week before game day making us look like morons on a forum he frequents. I would argue too that most Cal fans trash each other on our own boards so none of us are unique in that respect.

Further, spend a couple of years on another team's board and see what it's like when dumbass Cal fans show up and try to post academic smack, football smack, etc. and then puff their chest out via the internet to try to mock people who you've met personally at tailgates, work and in business. As a collective group, we're amateurs when it comes to reaching out to other teams, conferences and when we participate in internet sports forums. We don't seem to be able to take a joke well and our fallback is always: they're juvenile or can't comprehend what our message is/was - that's been my experience outside this forum and on other teams' boards.

Finally, if you're going to talk sh*t or rep Cal, do it within the parameters of the board in which you're visiting and not the board in which you originated. You'll get a lot of rep and "likes" throughout your travels. Otherwise, you'll be back here, like a whiny bitch telling everyone you got banned and that ____team/school sucks.

Trust me flukes, I know how this works. I've long found it more interesting to frequent other boards instead of my own, because I already know a lot about my team. Many years ago I was jokingly accused by some here of going native for all the time I'd spent on weSCare during the early Carroll heyday. I was also on BruinZone during the Toledo years and the garvin/redrum CardBoard when WIllingham was around, and also the NW Scout boards (Skippy/Price/Erickson/Bellotti glory years) before Cyberbears joined Scout and, thus, before most Cal fans ventured out into the larger world beyond Cyberbears. Because Cyberbears wasn't part of a network for the first several years of its existence, it cultivated a certain insularity among the Cal fanbase that other boards, being part of larger networks, did not share. I'm certainly aware of what it's like to be a regular and valued longtime visitor on other boards, and also what it's like to see haughty Cal fans coming out and about (especially around 2004-5) doing what haughty fans do everywhere.

Blah blah blah establish my credentials... bottom line is that he's over there broad-brushstroke trashing the whole Cal fanbase for being ignorant, but he isn't, because, well, you know, he watches college football. Screw that guy.

I learned two things today.

Dykes-era Cal has not beaten an FBS with a winning record yet. It's way too early to throw out such optimistic numbers. We'd have to beat Utah to go 6-0, or UCLA to go 7-0 to reasonably speculate an 11-win, or even a 9-win season. The season is so back-loaded. In the last seven games only Oregon State is a mediocre team. Cal's recent history is littered with 5-0 starts that went south quickly. We haven't even beaten a P5 team yet!

I mean I get your point, but stop being so pessimistic. This team showed it could hang with the likes of UCLA last year and by the looks of it this is an improved team this year. So why is a win against Utah and UCLA to get to 7-0 outside of the realm of possibility to you? I think that saying ceiling is an admission that such a run is very unlikely but most top 15 teams probably have a ceiling of 12-0 if everything goes right, and in my opinion, I think this team probably ends the year being ranked 15-25 and around 9-3. Even at 11-1, I would guess they would lose to the P12 champ in the CCG and would be lucky to get into a NY6 bowl
