The link only shows a couple of places with a line up for the game but both have Cal as a 2 point favorite. I think we'll cover that spread but after last night's game, the defense keeps me from being very confident about it. I'm hoping Washington's offense will be less fast and explosive.

My website showed opening at 1 point favorite and is now at 2.5
Interesting, since Washington has found a passer/gunner.

This is basically pick 'em. Since I see the Bears winning, it'll most likely be by 3 or more points. But with this team, anything is possible.

Objectively, it's a better bet to wager on the Huskies.

Sagarin has Cal as 5 point underdogs. I would be surprised if Cal is favored by game day.

OT: BTW, did you notice that the Cal-Texas odds dropped from Cal by 6.5 points to 4 from Friday night to Saturday morn.
The general feeling is that the 'pros' or 'smart money' comes in late Friday or after. Could Lasco have something to do with the drop in odds?

At 5:00 pm it is at 3 points. People are betting.

Why? Because you're objectively negative? I see nothing that clearly points to UW winning. But if you're that confident, place your bet!

Go Bears!!

Huskies can't run the ball, and I don't think they'll be able to score enough points if we play decent pass D. - I like our chances

If that's true then I'm more worried about our offense against what should be the best defense we've faced so far. Let's hope Lasco is back.

If healthy, I am not worried about the offense. Even though the players have changed, I am sure Goff and the offense would like to put up a good performance against Washington in particular.

I am much more worried about our defence in this game.

Browning can't run...I think we will do a decent job against a more conventional QB. If Drew is out, however, that will make things much tougher.

Yeah but we will have Lasco as a tradeoff.

Would like very much to win, and convincingly on Saturday, by at least 14 points. That said, one would have to go back nearly 15 years to see CP lose at home that badly... In Seattle, UCLA and ASU got them by 14 last year, Stanford by 7.

Our TO margin is positive for the year, and penalties, less than 5 a game. After leading the nation last year in penalties, and having a negative TO margin, that's a solid difference. An offense 7th in the nation doing 51 ppg, meeting a D that is currently leading the conference in points and yards allowed...

I'm sure the guys remember 31-7 at CMS.

Edit / Add: Was hoping to find some recent video on their true freshman QB, Jake Browning. This high school vid came-up... I know, high school, but he is clearly very good. He has a deep ball and touch, looks off DBs, feels the pocket well, and is plenty quick on his feet. I even see the "typewriter" feet on this kid... Our Troy Taylor looks to have done a nice job.

http://www.uwdawgpound.com/2014/5/23/5743822/uw-2015-qb-commit-jake-browning-scouting-report-and-update-washington-huskies-recruiting

Seems weird saying it, but given who we have played thus far, this true freshman is likely the best QB we will have faced...

Heard had the greatest impact due to his running. It was so unorthodox and unexpected that it forced our guys to be inventive on the fly and, given Heard's speed and darting style, they did well enough. I doubt that Browning, or probably any other qb we'll face, will have that kind of impact. I'm sure our guys learned a lot and will apply it to UW. I like our chances.

Well if a guy called WhipItOutJoe is picking UW I'm going to bet my life savings on the Huskies.

Heard reminded me a lot of Kaep against us @Nevada. Sure, the receivers he was hitting were wide open; but the passes were crisp, on target, and allowed the receivers to pick up YAC. They were also often not his first read, so he was going through his progressions before taking off running (except when designed). An impressive performance and the future looks bright for UT at the QB position.

I'm certainly not picking the Huskies; merely noting what the spread is if you use Sagarin's numbers.

Barring further injury, I would be surprised if the line swung from minus 3 Bears to Huskies being favored. You just don't see that.

NEVER ever bet a line on Cal... I did bet the over / under for the Oregon game last year... that seemed like free money and it was... I don't know what it was against Texas, but I'm sure all the overs won!!!

The Texas odds went from Cal by 6.5 to Cal 4.0 Saturday morn.

BTW ; Utah/Oregon is 'pick-em'.

Hard to deduce anything about the fuskies based on their schedule so far this year. Close road loss to a seemingly good/decent Boise team, beat up a week FCS team, then won decisively against another mid major lacking an offense. Just based on the fact that it's difficult to play in Seattle, I wouldn't touch this bet even though I think we're a better team. Then again I never bet on Cal games anyway.

^ Utah is a solid solid team. Excellent defense. Excellent RB. They beat UCLA, USC and Furd last year. It's a similar makeup type team this year too.

Oregon looks wack. Georgia St is like something like 2-26 in their last few seasons and were giving it to the ducks at home. Yea, they padded their points with some turnovers on D for TDs...but I without looking at the box score, I think they scored only a little more than GSU on offense.
Cal89

Oregon is not converting 3rd downs remotely like they did in 2014. Top 10 to 88th. It's early, had to play Michigan St on the road, new QB, back-up QB...

Adams' broken finger, I assume it's in his throwing hand, that's a factor.

Browning is a solid QB, but their offense has flaws, inexperience and poor run blocking at OL, though they're supposed to be OK at pass protection. Not a great group of RBs. Will Browning be able to connect consistently enough to keep drives going?

On D they have shown to have good depth in the front 7 from last year with the new group looking solid, but not nearly the same type of domination as last year. One of their best DBs FS Baker has had an ankle injury against USU. The rest of their crew is not going to be able to slow us down without the kind of pressure they got last year from their front 7.

From the betting stand point the "pick em" for Utah - Nike U is because of questionable status of their starting QB's. Since their second stringers played well this past weekend it probably won't make a lot of difference who is starting. Ducks are awful on defense so I wouldn't be shocked by a Utes win.

If Adams had not overthrown a wide open receiver in the endzone, Oregon is undefeated and in position for a playoff run, they are still lethal despite the lack of a DL.

Utah looked good against Fresno State in the first half (24-3), but Fresno State is worse than San Diego State, and Utah gave up three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to the way overmatched Fresno team with no quarterback. Utah scored a TD with four seconds left to make the score look better. Utah has Devontae Booker, and he is outstanding--but nothing else on offense. If the line is eventually 7, Take Oregon and give the points.
