The conundrum of the stall offense

How long do you want to ignore this user?
So sonny n TF took a lot crap last year about the hurry up offense in 4th quarters with the lead....so they've gone to a clock burn offense. But it doesn't get 1st downs or score. They still hurry but then loiter at the line for 20 seconds. I'd rather have them huddle and then run a motion offense. Freezing the OL in a two point stance for 20 seconds just seems like a bad idea. Defenses are rested and ready and we don't succeed. It needs work.

Didn't help that Goff was hobbling at the end, although Anderson dropped the ball.

By huddling, you allow defensive substitutions. The theory is if you don't let them substitute, you don't allow the most optimal personnel packages at each down.

UW has a hockey substitution pattern for D line. it's going be interesting what happens throughout the game. Cal, I am sure will try to keep the same DL on for as long as they can.
