The Packers had practice on Saturday in San Jose because they had a short week due to Monday Night Football. No way Aaron and Richard could've made it.

but apparently R Rodgers made it? At least someone thought so (did they show him during the telecast?)

Richard was at the game. Check the other thread.

Yeah, he was on the Cal sideline for at least part of the game.

he also caught a touchdown the following day.

"Aaron Rodgers not coming to the Cal game is a non-story" because no Cal fan cares whether or not he shows up.

I care, because AR on the sidelines would have a very noticeable impact on recruiting. It would have been an important asset to have him as an active part of the Cal brand rather than a lukewarm past association. I don't think you can really dismiss that.

Facts--

You were wrong. Richard Rodgers made it. TV PROOF

Aaron Rodgers went to Cal

 • He is arguably the top Player in the NFL

 • He has NEVER represented for Cal, either before or after the Tedford firing.

 • He has represented for Butte College and Wisco in the past year

 • He could have come to the game on Saturday IF he was as motivated as his teammate

Miss my days at bezerkeley. Miss those gold pants, sat nights after a big win at memorial, and late night asada plate at la burrita

And he did this spot. I'd say he was representing Cal. However, it was before Tedford got canned.

Apparently there are a lot of fans on BI who care hence this is the 3rd of 4th thread about this "non-story."

No way, man. It's awesome when Cal fans come off like butthurt drama queens over an NFL player. Who cares about the MANY former Cal players returning to the sideline thanks to Dykes, we need to p!ss and moan about something after a win.

Go Bears!!

He's done more than that. That was the first thing that came up. He's retweeted Geoff McArthur repping Cal.

You: Make a false, blanket claim.

You: NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Dbearson was saying that the grounds for that "proof" were pretty flimsy, to say the least, and if anything they support the notion that AR is very distant in his association with his alma mater.

Though it wasn't his claim, here was the claim made:

"He has NEVER represented for Cal, either before or after the Tedford firing."

That was proven false. When it was proven false, Dbearson said, "lol you had to pull a tweet from 2011?"

Maybe as the quarterback he had more to worry about and learn and be ready to put in his game than Richard Rodgers did? I'm willing to give Aaron Rodgers a pass.

This is getting so damn silly. Dude led us to the best season we have had in 25 years, was money on the field, and is the best QB in the NFL. It is obvious that he likes to troll the sensitive bearinsider posters. I would too if I was him, our fan base is so silly about the "slights".

Sorry, but RETWEETING is not representing. So my claim isnt False.

This is how you could represent.

Use our name in your pregame intros.

Mention us in interviews or on your own radio show

Show up to one of our athletic events in the off season. Perhaps root for us against your almost home town badgers.

Give some money back to the U.

Show up with Cal gear in public.

Show up to a football game or practice.

He is talented and I am thrilled he went to Cal. He is known to hold grudges and not have the highest emotional intelligence out there.

Um, I seriously doubt Rodgers wastes his time frequenting this site and reading the petty complaints about him. I doubt we're even on his radar.

What I don't understand are people who hate on him on this site. Exactly what do these people hope to accomplish? Do they think he reads this stuff and will reconsider? Do they just need to vent? How does complaining about Rodgers help in any way? Doesn't it just make our fanbase look bad by bad mouthing players who have contributed so much to our program?

OK GMP, you're a lawyer, and you're getting paid to post this at this moment, but sometimes, you have to step out from that mindset.

Hell, I wish he'd say "Go Bears!" in his intros, but I'm possibly over-sensitive.

http://saturdayblitz.com/2015/10/05/announcer-thinks-aaron-rodgers-bad-terms-cal/

Quote:

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers set several Cal passing records when he played for the Golden Bears from 2003-2004, but his connection to the school is fragile at best.

It's one of those things you might not even notice but when former Cal quarterback Aaron Rodgers is introduced during an NFL game, he says he's from Butte College. No mention of the Golden Bears. Just Butte College in Oroville, where he led the Roadrunners to a 10-1 record in 2002 before transferring to Cal. I hadn't really given it much thought until Saturday, when legendary Cal radio announcer Joe Starkey went on a brief rant about Rodgers during the Golden Bears' win over Washington State.

Starkey essentially he was scolding Rodgers for his petty behavior toward Cal because he thinks Rodgers is unhappy the school fired his former coach Jeff Tedford after the 2012 season. Starkey referred specifically to Tedford's dismissal and urged Rodgers to let it go.

"Coaches get fired, Aaron," Starkey said. "It happens all the time."

The issue seemed to strike a nerve with Starkey, who has called Cal football games since 1975. Perhaps Starkey was also bothered that Rodgers wasn't at the Cal-Washington State game even though he was in the area for Sunday's Green Bay-San Francisco 49ers contest.

Maybe Rodgers was busy preparing for the 49ers, but he could've mended some fences with the Cal fan base by making time for a quick visit at some point during the weekend to meet Cal quarterback Jared Goff -- who has been compared to Rodgers by many NFL draftniks.

Rodgers doesn't make many missteps on or off the field, but his attitude toward Cal does seem a little ridiculous. We appreciate his loyalty to Tedford, but it's time to move on. Surely even Tedford would agree.

at least get these "facts" straight. i dont agree with how rodgers has handled his Cal situation either but he repped Cal pretty hard until tedford got fired. i remember his annual bet with a teammate on the packers who played for usc would have to wear the others colors if based on who won.
