Emoji Cam might as well be renamed WTF Cam. No one around me, all non-BIers, knows what it's for.

It will be another of those "almost sold out" games where the majority of seats are occupied by the "Invisibles".

Cheers!!
Go Bears!!!

That number is paid attendance, not actual butts in the seats. I estimate that no more than 28,000 showed up. The corners and the end zone areas were very sparsely populated.

But after Goff is in the NFL, 200,000 will say they were there.

I doubt that, I was there and based on other games I've been to there were probably mid 30k in the seats. It was no worse than OSU at the least.

No way! The actual attendance wasn't even close to that; it was more like 25,000-27,000 max. And after Cal fell behind by 21 points in the second quarter, actual butts in the seats wa more like 20,000. Attendance for this game was the worst of the season. Too bad, because folks missed the most entertaining game of the season, but it was cold.

Ok, I am in. I was at Goff's last game at the Memorial Stadium when he beat ASU 48-46. He throw for Cal record 542 yards and 5 TDs with no INT in the game that concluded an hour ago!

BTW, I am making this post from Bosnia after waking up this morning in Croatia (it is 9 AM Sunday morning where I am)!!

Love you Bears! Even from nine time zones away, I wake up at 3 AM to follow you!

Go Bears!

I was there..seems like maybe high 30s, maybe 40k-41k. Big exodus at half time.

I was there also. I think your estimate is about 10,000 too high.

Wrong. Absolutely wrong. Attendance tonight was about what it was in 2001 for home games after the Illinois loss. Th weather and the late kickoff all had something to do with the low attendance.

To be in the low 30s, Cal Memorial would have had to have been about half full. It was, at most, 45% full. There's a significant difference there.

Friend told me his ASU relatives are staying at the Faculty Club. Can't be a good attendance omen if the Faculty Club is selling rooms to people with zero Cal ties.

If any of the ASU relatives is a member of, say, the ASU Faculty Club, then they would be able to stay at the UC Berkeley Faculty Club via a reciprocity agreement that allows members of one club to use another club's facilities subject to availability. Many university clubs in the US belong to this reciprocal network, including the faculty clubs at ASU and Cal.
