If you're serious about reducing head injury, you GOTTA enforce this rule. Totally justified. Change your tackling and you won't be called for it.

For anyone at Air Force whining about the ejection, please show them the Skov video. We had one owed to us big time. Sure, I realize it has NO relation to this game. But if the rule states ejection is a possible punishment for the violation, don't commit the penalty!

By rule that was absolutely correct call, but does suck for AF and that kid.
The o-line is looking good, not sure if that's because AF D line is pretty weak?
Also I like the playcalling with Enwere and the big guys on short yardage and not forcing the passing game.

Disagree. There are too many variables that can lead to helmet to helmet contact. See the TEXAS game for us...that kid did not deserve to be ejected.
Ejection is fine if it's a truly dangerous play...but this play did not deserve ejection.
We only completed a few passes on that drive, hm.

Yeah, he took like three or four steps towards Treggs after the ball had already deflected, I think that was enough room for him to change trajectory but he didn't. Good call in my book even though it sucks for him.

"By Rule" - one of my biggest pet peeves. By definition every call should be "by rule." If it's not "by rule" then that implies that the refs are just making it up as they go. Of course it's by rule, everything is by rule!
"By Rule" = Refs love to say it because they get to blame someone else for their call.

He absolutely could have pulled out of that hit. He wanted to send a message early, and THAT is why the rule is in place. Being tough guy on WR head when defenseless. The correct call. Ejection harsh, but he completely knew the rule and brought it on himself.

Nope, the safety tackled high and made helmet-to-helmet contact. Had he hit low and tackled with his shoulders, no penalty. If the receiver had dropped his head at the last second, then I don't think ejection was justified. But the way it happened, the safety made the type of hit and tackle the NCAA is discouraging.
