I was feeling smug because I managed to get myself to Houston despite the weather problems. Figured they had a billion flights a day to Dallas so I was set. Well guess what? They cancelled every single goddamned last one of them! Tried to rent a car to drive to Dallas. Guess what, take 2? All booked. As an added bonus the roads are such a mess that there are 4 hour hour travel delays to drive (even if I could get a car). I've never missed a bowl game and I'm now thinking of walking to Dallas (or carjacking someone). This is a freaking disaster. Hope the game part of the game goes better.

how about going to the AF board and see if you can hitch a ride with a local AF fan going to the game

Ha. I just might do that. Of course it's me and my family plus all our luggage (we've been traveling for the holidays) so that would be quite an ask......

If y'all send some luggage home maybe a 4x4 uber ( if there are no budgetary limits) or perhaps towing/transportation company with 4x4 equipment

Team is all accounted for per cal football Twitter YouTube etc I'm assuming due to bowl pre game activities hence they had to fly in xmas day from all over country ...

The flights started running late in the afternoon and evening. Of course with the earlier cancellations they were all over sold twelve ways to Sunday. After 11 hours in the Houston airport trying to find enough seats to get us to Dallas with no success the family mutinied and we flew back to California at 10:00 pm last night. So sadly my story did not have a happy ending. The ultimate twist of the knife is that while United couldn't get me to Dallas, it had no problem sending my luggage there where it now sits in all of its blue and gold glory.

The only good news in all this is that I have amassed more than enough familial credit to make sure I'm a lock for Australia next year (I'm leaving a week early this time - maybe two). Go Bears.
