Last week my wife came home with a free, hand me down car seat. The only issue is that it's red. I said, "Well, we can't keep that. It's red." She said, "Oh, come on." I told her I was serious and she said we're not getting rid of it. I'm sure some of you have had this experience. So my question is, does anyone know a good divorce lawyer? 😀

We hardly have any red. When my wife (then fianc) moved in she started decorating the kitchen with red towels, rugs cookie jars and a few other things. That didn't fly. We changed everything to gray not long after.

I hate the color red and have since before I was even a Cal fan. My high school rival was red and I just look horrible in the color and haven't worn it since I was probobly in elementary school. But it being Stanford colors just adds on to my hatred for it.

The need for a pre-nup has never been stated so clearly

Are you sure that your motives were all driven by your love of Cal.

I remember back to a Big Game Rally back in the late 1960's. I was on Rally Comm. We had this great looking blond sitting in the middle of the rooting section wearing a bright red slinky dress. Yell leader had her come on stage to cries of "Take off that red dress." She did. Underneath she had a electric Blue Bikini. Crowd went wild.

That skit would probably be too sexist for today's students.

Some cars just look good in red, like the Ferrari red. No chance I will ever have one, of course. I've never had a red car (well, duh), but I cannot categorically promise I would never have one. I would be very hesitant about bringing it to Cal in any context. Probably will never happen. Probably. If someone gave me one, okay. Probably. Oh, and I can't think of anything in our house that's red, and of course no clothing.

One of my favorite, albeit it less sexy than a dress but safer than a cousin's bra, was in the student section in '93 or '94 and my buddy loses it at the dude selling the lemonade slushies. Started screaming, "take off those red straws!" and everyone joined in. Guy took out 15 or so straws out of the lemonade and my friend bought all his inventory and had him give them all out for free.

The buying them all / giving them away didn't happen but should have and would have made for a better story.

I can admire a few things in red, like the aforementioned small sports cars (someone near us has a red Lotus that's just beautiful) and brunettes in red dresses.

No red for me though. I have an old pair of white socks that's in my rotation: One navy stripe and one red stripe. I just never wear them with shorts.

Not all Cal folks are in on this, though. My next door neighbor is an alum and fan and his kid just got accepted to Cal. He drives a bright red car and it's not a Ferrari. Did he get a great deal on it, or what? I've never asked. Whatever...

I have a comfortable red shirt that I hate-wear in the privacy of my own home.

Regarding a good divorce lawyer, if in California, file a DV restraining order against the wife for bringing anything red in the house (e.g., you are annoyed or harassed by such conduct). The judge will grant the order--you get the kids, the house, the bank account, etc.

I noticed Simone Manuel wearing a blue sweatshirt during the Olympics broadcast last night. I really don't think folks from furd are as hung up on the color thing as many of us are. Either that or maybe she detests red too.

And somehow, liking the frothy whiners and their colors is still ok ...

I used to be "that way", owned nothing red - until i had kids. Then twenty years a soccer coach, all for a club whose colors are red and white. I own a lot of red clothes. Would not dream of wearing it away from the pitch and never in Berkeley. Try to avoid it on Saturdays, but from time time you will see me in a red polo and hat. It's red, though. Not cardinal.

The only exception I make is for rock/heavy metal tour shirts that have some red, but not the dominant color. The awesome AC/DC logo is usually in red so no go for games.

We have a number of red items in the house, but none belong to me. My wife is Asian and she and my two daughters look great in red, sigh

I had a red ice chest, which I thoughtlessly brought to a tailgate before a Cal game. A couple guys from other tailgates came by to give me a hard time. Now we have blue one.

Also, I bought a portable Coleman gas barbecue from Amazon a couple years ago. The blue one cost $20 more than the red one. WTF??? Of course, I sprung for the blue one. The blue costs more because blue is the color people want. Duh. You lower the price of the sh!t you're trying to get rid of.

I don't own much, if any, red. But I also just don't like the color, outside of Cal fandom. I would think it's too loud for a car seat.
