Five minutes to kickoff and probably 15K in attendance

Not very full but not sure of your counting skills.

15k? No.

No more than 25k butts in seats at kickoff. Maybe 35k now

Nah. More like 45k but not the 50k I was thinking.

Would love to hear your assessment of the staff in year 4.

Its a reflection of the opponent as well.

ZERO history in major football. They are a Johnny come lately. Had a few good seasons.

Who wants to see them?

The bad games used to be SJ State and Pacific. This is a good game, and they beat Cal even when Tedford was here. I'd like to watch us win this game. If we lose, there's still Top Dog.

Official attendance: 46,618

And blah, blah, blah about butts in seats vs. official attendance. It's always different and this one wasn't any different than any other game. People were woefully underestimating at every point in time.

The east side looked bad at the start of the game (which often happens), the west side looked way better but you don't see that on TV.

The overall attendance was better than I expectedCal at 2-2 + Utah just isn't going to draw a casual fanbut it was helped by it being high school band day. Unfortunately the next home game is on a Frickin' Friday, so not many people will be in person to see Cal finally beat Oregon after all these years. And that's it for October.

We'll have to wait until November for Memorial to be rockin' again for Beastmode Bobblehead day. Three packed home games in November, a great way to wrap up the 2016 regular season.

Very late arriving crowd. I and my son were the only people sitting in T till 30 min b/f ko. There were still people coming midway through 2nd qtr.

They did it again on our last possession, how do they get away with that crap?

the mic man was f*cking awful, by the way. always nice to have fans from other schools visiting asking you "is this how they usually are...?"

if you want to better attendance, have a better product.

Better product or not the attendance is usually disappointing, not so much in absolute numbers but in percentage of total capacity. The attendance was announced at 46,000 something and that must have been tickets sold and not actual bodies in the seats as there were lots of sparsely populated areas (which show up rather prominently on TV). We like to rag on Stanford for not having a full stadium, even with good to great teams, but we're not any better, at least after the peak Tedford years. Consistent winning might bring the crowds back. I would not be surprised if even the Big Game was not sold out. It hasn't been for a number of years, even with the down-sized stadiums.

i don't disagree. 46k was very generous. even the student section and QQ were not as full as the low-angle shots made it out to be on TV.

though, i have to say, if we were experiencing the type of success Stanfurd is currently, attendance wouldn't be an issue.

We have four season tickets, but only two of us were able to attend...

When I pulled all four out, I provided two to get scanned, and the ticketing agent, seeing the other two, asked for them. There was no one else behind us in line, so I found that odd. I said that we are not using them today. She said that's ok, and requested them, or put her hand out. I then said again that it's just the two of us, and she was actually somewhat adamant, then not all that happy when I put them back in my bag...

Given the topic, figured I'd share.
