Better product or not the attendance is usually disappointing, not so much in absolute numbers but in percentage of total capacity. The attendance was announced at 46,000 something and that must have been tickets sold and not actual bodies in the seats as there were lots of sparsely populated areas (which show up rather prominently on TV). We like to rag on Stanford for not having a full stadium, even with good to great teams, but we're not any better, at least after the peak Tedford years. Consistent winning might bring the crowds back. I would not be surprised if even the Big Game was not sold out. It hasn't been for a number of years, even with the down-sized stadiums.
