Webb has gotten away with poor footwork and laziness with some great catches mostly by Hansen but tonight, his poor execution bit the Bears in the butt, along with the less than stellar defensive effort or lack thereof.

I've noticed a trend in that we lose all the games where we don't score a touchdown on the first drive of the game. It seems that for the offense to get into rhythm, we need to have an early score. I'm not entirely sure why this is -- it might be that the playcalling turns stagnant or it might be that Davis starts feeling less confident and sputters out.

One of the worst QB performances I've seen at Cal, especially from a guy with talent. Davis didn't throw with confidence all night. Bouncing screen passes. Floating the deep ball. Happy feet when throwing over the middle. His lack of accuracy killed our ability to attack the middle of the field. Our deep ball scheme is 100% predicated on the bubble screen. Davis has a looooooong release and it makes it tough to get the ball to the sidelines with pace.
Can't understand how we are playing soft coverage and 4 man fronts all the way till the 4th quarter. Press man and stuff that box and this game would have been over in the 1st quarter. Inexcusable scheme, we need a new vision on defense desperately.

No strength at all in the trenches....I know technique plays a big part, but these guys get pushed around easily as well as DB's can't bring down RB's with their skinny a** arms.....

Yes. They didn't stop **** for most of the game and then at the end, when we had a chance, the defense stepped up (for a bit). What's up with that?

Why did the refs not rule the defender out of bounds on osu's last drive? Horrible call.
By the looks of things it seems we do too much cardio type training and not enough raw strength training. When we hit, tackle, block, etc. the other guy doesn't move very much.

It really felt like the whole team got the week off this week. Even Anderson kicked two early knickleballs. And our hero Hansen flubbed a TD opening drive. Weird. And OSU and Nall were on fire armed with a solid game plan. at home.

I honestly think that if we gave it to Khalfani on the draw instead of throwing the screen to Demetris, we win.
