BTW, weird stuff happens at BYU games. The Air Force's mascot flew away mid-game (despite being chased by the team) in order to mate with another falcon (presumably not a BYU falcon since that would break the chastity pledge), Ty Dettmer yelling at a ref he as full of sh** on a live mic, the BYU cheerleader who liked to put her foot in her pocket and wiggle when BYU scored (the Ute fans had all sorts of fun with that), the TCU mascot ran full speed into a goal post after being egged on by TCU fans, and concussed, a drunk guy fell down stairs and on to field where a TD area pass was thrown over his head (in case you don't think BYU fans are all sober, well you might be surprised), Cosmo was body surfaced down to the band (years ago when this was allowed) and the fans didn't realize the band had just left for the field to entertain at half time, and Cosmo was thrown on empty seats and concussed and finally some gadfly landed a hot air ballon inside the stadium right before the game started, the ballon was caught in a goal post and bent it, meaning all kicks were made in one direction during the game. It must be the altitude.

BTW, the BYU crowd is loud.

This approach is common among all the HS cheerleading/dance teams these days. Dance "performance" competitions are the goal of all these cheerleader team's - there is virtually no association with football other than to provide a venue for performances.

Often results in some comical cheers - saw a game last weekend where a cheer team for a HS, with a running clock, down 55-6, the cheerleaders were dancing away while shouting "stop em, stop em" about the other teams PAT kick. Mom's & dad's happily filmed away with their phones, ignoring the game.

There is a well known HS in my area, where the "cheerleaders" are "dressed" l like $20 *****s, girating like strippers, while their stands go nuts thinking this is a classy, amazing activity.

We need a reality show in which these wholesome BYU girls take on other groups in a hip-hop dance-off every week (UCLA, USC, NBA dance teams, YouTube stars, high-school kids, aliens, etc.)

Nothing but Stepford wifes; those people don't even bother with token brown cheerleaders.
