The irony is that we played a P5 opponent and an opponent that is a P5-worthy independent - BYU (who has more votes than we do); meanwhile Oregon rose three places to 19 after beating Bowling Green, Portland State, and San Jose State.. Go figure?

If Cal beats Oregon, then you'll have a legitimate gripe. Until then it's all a guessing game. Cal looked not so great against an extremely weak P5 team, pretty strong against a non P5 team and so-so against an FCS team. I'm not sure Oregon deserves a ranking, but I don't think Cal has earned one either. So whoever wins in two weeks can earn a ranking. Unless Oregon gets hammered by Furd and then destroys Cal, in which case neither team deserves one.
