If we beat Oregon, I am starting a "who will be the next coach" speculation thread.

I'm more afraid of DeRuyter leaving. He is the magic behind Wilcox imo.
However, Wilcox is changing the culture in a good way. So he's good to.
So I would not want either to leave.
If they do, we need to see these guys as a blueprint for who we need to replace them with.
It can be done, especially now that we know what works at Cal (or think we know anyway).

The OP is a Giants fan ... so ... ridiculousness can be expected

Let's have a winning season first before we cross that bridge.
By then it will be too late. Just the reality of college football 2018.

So are you a Cal fan or not ?

Of course I'm a Cal fan. I love the university, the football team, and Cal fans.

It doesn't change the fact that Cal fans are still losers.
Since you admit to loving the University, the football team, and the fans, I posit that you too are a Cal Fan. Therefore, according to your own postings, you are also a loser.

Welcome to the Loser's Club, hanky1. Go Bears!

People love to attack the refs around here. Keep calling balls and strikes, this community needs it.

It started when Oregon had a coaching opening last year.

Realistically, the guy hasn't even had a winning season yet.

I understand that UO offered JW the HC position but JW turned it down so UO went with Plan B --- offering the position to its OC. Apparently UO sees what some on this Board don't: JW is a good coach and could very well turn out to be a great coach.

Cal = Only fan base in case college football that worries about losing their coach after one 5-7 season.

Actually I seem to recall a similar thread to this after Wilcox won his first game last year.

It reinforces my opinion that Cal fans are losers.

Didn't we lose Mariucci after one 6-6 season, and ended up with Holmoe?
But we started 5-0! Of course, that also means we finished 1-6...

Our schedule typically isn't very favorable for a coach looking to jump ship. This year for instance we could realistically start 7-0 and end 7-5.

So there is a major difference in JW declining an interview with Oregon and declining an actual job offer.

You have no idea how well the Wilcox era will turn out. You can guess, but your guess is no better than anyone else's.

I overheard at the Boston Market that he will leave after we win the NC.
