Oregon State, with a bye, firing up the chainsaw this week for next Sat.; was there two years ago, I fear another ugly evening.

I remember when they struggled first half against Idaho State, though we eventually blew them out. Then we're ranked and I received pushback for saying we didn't deserve to be ranked.

Since the best Tedford years, if Cal doesn't get ranked in the first four weeks, any chance is gone for the season. So it doesn't matter if Cal is deserving. We are a desperate fan base.

We will lose to OSU in Beavertown. Even in our best years we go up there and get stomped. This team is just not that good and with a QB coughing up the ball it's hopeless.

Seems like this was the worst Cal performance in my sixteen years of watching. If there has been a worse outing since Holmoe, I'd like a reminder of it.

Doesn't anyone seriously believe we will win another game? SEriously with his team and this qb or any of them - we don't win another this season. No way.

Oregon State is only possible win. Probably not but possible, I think everything else is a loss, several blow outs..

22 for 40 with two picks and a fumble or two and 11 yards rushing. Someone can do better, sorry.

I watched them all. I don't think we had as bad a game in all three phases in the Sonny era, but maybe I'm wrong. Sonny-era was awful, horrible, and no part of me wants any part of that staff back but... today, at home, against 0-5 first year head coach UCLA we failed to execute anywhere on the field in miserable fashion.

Presser will be disappointing too I am certain.

I didn't watch the game. (Thank you daughter for having a complete days worth of terrible tournament volleyball that I had to watch - it wasn't as frustrating as this football team)

I see McIlwain had another two INTs and low completion percentage. At this point I think it is a matter of objective fact - he's not good enough right now. 7 INTs in 3 games is atrocious, an absolute back breaker for a defensive minded team, it just destroys the identity of this team. And that doesn't even account for the fumbles.

I get moving away from Bowers, he's limited athletically and is a game manager. But at least he mostly took care of the ball. I actually thought Garbers was the best mix of pass and throw. Bottom line - McIlwain MUST be sent to the bench.

Truth. Sonny's teams always had the uncanny ability to score a couple of late meaningless TDs to make the final score seem not as bad as it really was.

Yeah I don't get it either. If you play McIlwain, you have to use him as a runner because it's his only plus skill. Having him play like Garbers is setting yourself up to fail, which we did.

This, right here. McIlwain does one thing well, he runs with the ball. So we don't have him run very much, not even on 4th and inches.

Why was this? Ah, we were using the threat of him running as a decoy!

Turns out that wasn't an upset he was smelling but a combination of burnt tires, patchouli and a week old bowl of poke.
